Tusker House - used to be counter service?

I came across a link to an "Unwrapped" show on Disney...and they implied that Tusker House was counter service?

Did it used to be that way?

Yes, that is an old show with some outdated places, and before it went TS.......it makes me miss the old days - their rotisserie chicken was to die for....

Yes, it was counter service, originally. It was wonderful and I miss it.

They had rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and green beens - this was our favorite counter service meal!!! They also had a yummy breaded chicken sandwich. Don't remember what else was on the menu, because those were the things we enjoyed there.

I think I miss the green beans the most. It seems like I am always craving something green while we are at Disney. I think it is my body's way of trying to fight all of the sugar and fat!!!

I do miss it as a CS. We ate there each time we visited AK! It is a good breakfast buffet but I wished they had left the cs and added a ts part. Dd and Dh would share the chicken meal.

We love the TH buffet. That said, we LOVED the TH counter service. It was an absolute must do for us. The chicken and mashed potatoes were to die for. We felt like it was the best CS on property and ate there just before it closed for the remodel. We all were very sentimental during that meal.

When Tusker House was a CS it was our family go to CS in the AK. The food was always fresh and tasty! Loved it! This will be the first time since they switched it over to a TS that we have been back. I hope the food is as good as everyone says!

I do miss Breakfastosaurus, though. It was one of our favorite character meals!

I know, I used to love the Tusker House CS! I loved their Salmon dish. We do enjoy Donald's Safari Breakfast, so that is a good thing, but I do miss the CS. I thought it was the best in AK. We used to like Flame Tree, but I don't think it is as good as it used to be.

We liked Tusker House as a counter service, but we love it as a buffet! My kids request it every trip. My family really enjoys exotic foods. If you don't, you may not like this buffet.

Animal Kingdom seems to have had a tough time settling on dining choices. I am sure there will be tweaks (there always are), but it finally feels a bit more settled.

I remember a really lovely kiosk that had amazing summer rolls and chicken and beef satay when we first went there. The next time we went, it was pot stickers and noodles. Now I think it's a drink kiosk.

Tusker House did have a lovely salmon dish. It was also my favorite place to grab a CS breakfast--one of us would get in line for eggs and the other would go get fast passes the safari. It was awesome.

I loved the chicken sandwich there!

I also loved Tamu Tamu Refreshments, back when it had a delicious pineapple banana blueberry smoothie.

MMMmmmm, that fried chicken sandwich was the best!! Only had it once. We couldn't WAIT to eat there again on our next trip....only to find out it was turning into TS.
