Personally we like Tuskers best...but mostly because DH and I LOVE the grilled salmon....it is better than a lot of table service restaurants....just check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com and see which one sounds best for your family....you cannot go wrong either place. IMHO they are 2 of the best CS restaurants on Disney property.
Thanks. DH and I do not particularly like salmon, but it did look like there were lots of other great things on the menu, somewhat healthier than most places. My kids eat relatively healthy most of the time so I don't think they'd miss another fried chicken / french fries meal (I'm sure they'll get enough the rest of our trip!). But, DH does like BBQ...
Both are good. However, I prefer Flame Tree, food choices. Tusker does not have as many choices (for lunch) and near Flame Tree are some excellent outside areas to eat (ponds, etc). It is really beautiful.
Flame Tree, hands down. I really enjoy their chicken sandwich there-- so much so I've enver had anything else on their menu. Tusker House is OK, just not what I would prefer of the two.
I've only been to Tusker House (3 times for lunch). I really enjoy the variety of meals and freshness - we've had the turkey wrap & corn chowder (excellent - keep in mind that you can order a la carte - we ordered this meal and an extra bowl of chowder and split the wrap), rotisserie chicken and chicken salad. Busy place, but they have seating outside as well as room inside to eat.
Wow - opinions seem pretty split on this one! I guess I'll have to keep my options open and see what appeals to us.
Are the restaurants close together? I seem to recall reading somewhere that some people will get food from Tusker House and take it to Flame Tree to eat (because of their nice outdoor eating area) while other people in their party get food from Flame Tree. Would this work? That way I could do the healthy stuff while DH enjoys his ribs!!
Flame tree hands down. Their pulled pork sandwich is great! Tuskers has been a bust both times I went. It tastes like they dumped a salt shaker into their veggies and the rest of the food. Gross.
The two restaurants are not close to each other at all. Tusker House is near the safari ride; Flame Tree is on the way to Dinoland (correct me folks if I'm wrong.) I'd play it by ear, depending on where you are in the park when you're hungry.
A couple of other points: If it is terribly hot, or raining, choose Tusker House. Flame Tree has all outdoor seating. We tried to eat there on a rainy day and the only tables were uncovered...just out in the rain. (So we didn't eat there.)
Alright, thanks everyone! Looks like I'll just see where we are at lunchtime. Either DH or myself will have to find something to eat at one or the other!
