Tusker House or Crystal Palace?

Which would you recommend for breakfast? Kids are 5 and 3.

Hands down Tusker House. We went there this past September with a party of 21 and had a blast! Our party included kids ranging from 2-10.

Just a word of caution when booking at Tusker House. We were a party of 8 and we at an ADR for 10:15am. We arrived early, at 9:55am and were told to have a seat with our light thing, that would light up when our name was called.

We waited, and waited. We asked at the counter after waiting for almost 45 minutes at about 10:40am. They told us to continue to wait. After 11:00am we again went to the counter to ask about our ADR, we were told that they were running late.

I wish that they had told us when we first checked in that they were late, we too had a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old with us that were getting extremely hungry.

We finally got seated about 11:15am, our waitress was great. She told us though that they were wanting to change over to lunch food right away so it we wanted breakfast food to go a head and get up to the buffet right away. The characters were also coming around, and it seemed like they were rushing too. Not a whole lot of interaction.

I was able to get the kids fed and myself a few things. I also was busy taking the pictures of the characters coming around. By the time I got back up to the buffett it had all changed to lunch. I was disappointed as I wanted some Mickey waffles. My waitress went to the back and was able to get me some!

Looking back, I wish they would have told us that they were running late. I wish that I would not have booked such a late ADR, I think that breakfast ends at 10:30am. It just all seemed so rushed from the food to the characters and for the price I would have liked to enjoy it all at a bit slower pace.

The place is beautiful and the food was good or at least the food that I was able to taste.

On a side note, they had changed the buffet over to lunch and we were welcome to sample anything from the lunch buffet as well. I just had my heart set on breakfast so was a bit disappointed.

I think both are great...the food is equally good at each. Which characters do you prefer Pooh and friends or Minnie, Donald and the gang.

They're both great. You really can't go wrong with this choice.

I agree, we did both in February and both were a hit with the kids.

Agree it's all about what Characters you'd prefer. Both restaurants are fine, buffets are pretty similar, as is the interaction. Can't go wrong with either.

I prefer Tusker House for the food. It's one of the better buffet breakfasts on property, with a nice mixture of standard fare and more creative dishes. But you should probably base your decision on which characters you would rather meet. You will likely have a decent meal regardless of which restaurant you choose. If your kids are Pooh fans, go with Crystal Palace!

All things equal, though, I recommend Tusker House.

Tusker House is great for breakfast --- go for the 1st seating at 8:05am, less likely to have to wait. But arrive much earlier than that because people get there early. If the park opens later, you get in the park early. The food is great. There's Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey and when you're done stuffing yourself, it's just a short walk to Kilmanjaro Safari... get a Fast Pass to use later in the afternoon and ride Kilmanjaro right then -- we love riding it in morning and afternoon.

Crystal Palace -- Great place to see Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. We like lunch here, dinner is good too. The food is superb and character interaction was personal, fun, and not rushed. And our son (now almost 5) didn't mind stopping all the fun rides of Magic Kingdom to eat because of the Pooh Characters. He gave quite a fuss before when the restaurant we were going to was not as fun... I don't blame him either...
