Tusker House - New Buffet

Has anyone eaten here for lunch? I am thinking of booking it for my upcoming trip. Is it at all similar to Boma? My DH loves Boma, but we won't have a car and it is really a hassle getting to the AKL for dinner with two little kids. So, I'm looking for a decent alternative. Our AK plan is to get there early in the morning, have some fruit or something for breakfast, see what we can, then have lunch around 1pm and hop over to Hollywood Studios after lunch. Dinner will be counter service somewhere at HS.

Does this sound reasonable for a HUGE Boma fan? Thank you!

unfortunately, we have never made it over to Boma due to some illnessess on our last trips... but we did manage to keep our Tusker House lunch and it was one of our fave meals the whole week. Not sure how it stacks up to Boma- i have heard it called Boma Lite. Everything was fresh and tasty and lots of variety

It was terrific! Almost the same buffet as dinner but cheaper. Waitstaff very knowledgeable, food varied, hot and replenished.

As one who laments the loss of Tusker House as WDW's best counter service, the current incarnation of Tusker House is still good. And its salmon is better than every other salmon-serving restaurant on site (including Citricos and Narcoosee's) except one: Boma.

Tusker House's buffet menu is varied with enough choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Boma's selections are thoroughly unique and some of its dishes are memorable.

We just had lunch there this week. Dh is the adventurous one. We have eaten at Boma once and I really cant remember it but Tusker House has tons of food and tons of choices. Dh enjoyed all the exotic stuff he ate. I was very hapy with what I had too. I am going to do a review of the week on the other boards. I think it was a good value for the choices. Very noisy though.

We just got back and ate lunch at Tusker House a couple of days ago. All of us loved this meal (DH, DAunt(75), and myself).

DH and I LOOOOVED the chicken curry with the yellow rice. I could've eaten only that and been happy! LOL

There was freshly-sliced pork and beef, and I loved the pork. There were 2 sauces there that you could pour over the pork and I loved the something-mustard sauce but wasn't crazy about the mango-something sauce.

I have a few pictures that I'll post later, but I would definitely dine here again, and I recommend it!
