We're doing two character meals this trip- Ohana (DS' fave) and one we have never tried before either Tusker House or Cape May. I can only get an ADR for Tusker House lunch and we will have photopass+ so the added pic with Donald will be nice. But, I have always wanted to try Cape May and we will be at Dolphin. We're paying OOP and the prices are similar so maybe it's a better deal for lunch. Any input? Thanks in advance!!!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Cape May, :beach:

It's just to relaxed and fun. We've never had to wait past our ADR and we've always loved it.

It's considerably less seating than Tusker House. But the food has always been great.

I like that it's a fun, beachy atmosphere. We always see all the characters in a timley fashion. Once we had a 1st few tables ADR and the characters hung out for quite a while. DH went and made some plates, Goofy was still at the table and feed Ty his eggs !

We like Tusker House just fine and have ADRs there for our next trip, but Cape May is a sure bet to a great time :)

We love Cape May Cafe for Breakfast....I have tried Tusker House for lunch once...it wasn't bad at all but Cape May is the way to go.

Can't tell from your post if you're looking for breakfast or lunch :confused3 The breakfast is great, and their dinner to us is fabulous, but they do not serve lunch. :goodvibes

We did the Cape May breakfast last trip, and it was very good. We got to see all of the characters, and they didn't seem to be in rush to get to the next table. Goofy even waited for my niece to get back to the table so she could get a picture taken with him. This time we are staying in the MK area or we would definitely do this meal again. We are going to try lunch at Tusker House this trip since we've never eaten there.

Just looking for a fun character meal with decent food. We're paying OOP so would like to get our money's worth. Chef Mickey's has always been our arrival dinner, but looking at the prices compared to what people have said about the quality of food lately, I actually cancelled our ADR. It's time to try something different anyway. Our boys are 14 and 9 if that makes a difference when it comes to the interaction at both restaurants. We're leaving on August 4th!!!

I loooooooove cape may. Great food. Gorgeous atmosphere. Cute characters. Plus its nice and quiet. Although since you have a breakfast at ohana booked id go try tusker lunch. It gives you a nice variety.

I have the Tusker House lunch scheduled for my trip next month and Cape May for dinner. Really looking forward to both!

I would absolutely pick Tusker House over Cape May Cafe. I had a horrible experience at Cape May Cafe, and the food was mediocre at best. Tusker House, on the other hand, is one of my favorites, the food is always good, and the service has always been exceptional there!

I know a PP had a bad experience at Cape May, but I've had two bad experiences at TH, including being forgotten about for nearly thirty minutes and then another fifteen minutes (I was there by myself and was forgotten about twice on that visit alone).

We love Cape May--they have a French Toast casserole (at least I think it was them) that was delicious. It was a great start to our days at Epcot.

OK, gotcha! There are no characters at the Cape May dinner, but we have been going for years and have never been disappointed in the food or service. It is sort of pricey, but all the buffets are basically the same, I think. The breakfast would be a lot less $$'s and you would have the characters (beach style dress). Both meals are delicious, so it would be characters (or not) price, and type of food that would determine your choices there. Have a great trip pixiedust:

Since you are staying at the Dolphin, I say go for Cape May Cafe. We have done Tusker for breakfast, but wouldn't be likely to do it for lunch.

That is a hard decision for me....we love Cape May Cafe, it is a must do for us, but we also love lunch at Tusker House. The food at Cape May is the basic breakfast foods but it is really good because everything that is served is always hot and fresh. Also, the character interaction at CMC has always been one of the best around. We also love how much quieter the restaurant at CMC compared to other character meals on property is :goodvibes.

As for Tusker House, we have eaten there for lunch once (before the characters were there) and we loved it. There is so much variety that even the pickiest eaters will find something :goodvibes. I also love the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant, it feels like you are in an African marketplace. Also, what is great is that Daisy is there and that is the only character meal where she is present. My thoughts for you is if you really want to try out CMC for breakfast, then go do it, but if you can't get an ADR there and go to Tusker House lunch instead, I don't think you will be disappointed either :goodvibes.

I actually have ADRs for both right now except I had to confirm Tusker with a credit card. I have Tusker scheduled for our AK day of course and Cape May for our check out day when we're moving to Universal. Would love to do both. Need to look at my ADRs again. This started out as a "budget trip" with few TS meals. HA! That's part of the experience. ;)
