Tusker House Lunch Buffet

Has anyone had this? Was it good? Would it be a good alternative to Boma if we can't get to Boma?
We have an Ethiopian daughter, so I would love to try some african food.

We love Boma--really love it--we went 3x during our recent 2 week stay.

We also tried Tusker House for the first time, and it's now on our must do list. The food is similar to Boma, but different, if that makes sense.

If you can't get to Boma, Tusker House would be a great alternative. It's much easier to get to (I got really sick of all the bus rides to and from the AKL) and has more convenient hours (I so wish Boma served lunch).

We thought Tusker House was more mainstream for the average American. If you are looking for something more authentic, then Boma. Either way, you really can't go wrong with either one.
Tusker House is definitely easier to get to for lunch and it keeps you in the park with a little A/C break.

We loved the Tusker House lunch buffet and I would agree that it is more mainstream than Boma (where we had dinner). TH food was very fresh and the day we ate there last month we had roast beef and mashed potatoes and gravy that were delish. It's a buffet and we sampled a few other things but those were stand outs. Boma is much more exotic! We enjoyed both...but Boma is more authentic African IMO.

Many of the dishes at Tusker House are directly off the Boma menu, but they tend to be those that appeal more to the average American diner.

Quality at TH is as good or better than it ever was as a counter service place. I'll be returning on my next trip, for sure.

I booked it! It really will be much easier for us than trying to get all 4 kids to Boma. There were plenty of openings for lunch!!
