OK, I have to start out by saying my 3 favorite restaurants in all of WDW are, in order:

1. Chefs de France
2. Jiko
3. Boma

This past Sunday we were at Animal Kingdom and decided to try Tusker House. Now, I've heard from multiple sources that not only is Tusker House good, but it's very comparable to Boma. Well, I didn't believe that it could touch my beloved Boma.

Well, it touched my Boma.

It was TERRIFIC. It might, in fact, be superior to Boma. But of that, I'm not quite sure yet. Even if it really is, I might have a hard time admitting it to myself.

The food was delicious. There is an orzo pasta dish that has feta cheese, kalamata olives and spinach that blew my mind. Everything was fresh and hot and quickly changed out by the staff as soon as it got to be even slightly low. And the way it is set up (in a very wide open area) made it MUCH easier to access the buffet stations than it is at the great Boma.

The service was outstanding. Our waiter was named Lee and he had our kids in stitches the whole time. He was great.

And the desserts - wow. The "7 layer cookie" was WOW. The passionfruit tart was delicious. They had a cinnamon banana bread pudding with vanilla bean sauce and it was out of this world. And the strawberry mouse was to die for, according to my wife.

I can't wait to try their breakfast some day.

Two other things it has over Boma: it's located within Animal Kingdom (the park), so you don't have to leave the park in order to get dinner - we went right from there to the Safari. And it's open for lunch (which Boma is not).

But It doesn't have Boma's soups. That a BIG feather in Boma's cap.

Anyway, I can't give Tusker House a high enough recommendation.

I agree with the PP. BOMA is my favorite restaurant at WDW and Tusker House is very similar, making it my second favorite.

Great? Do you have any food pics for us?

Oh, I wish! We brought along both our digital camcorder and our digital camera, and the batteries in BOTH died by the time we hit Tusker House at 4pm! I couldn't believe it. And I planned on taking photos too.

There's always next time. Because there definitely WILL BE a next time! ;)

I've been to Tusker House 3 times since it changed to a table service location; twice for breakfast and once for lunch. All 3 times were very good.

Tusker House - Yuuummmyyy!!!!! :yay:
The the smell as I entered the food area made me think I had died and gone to heaven. The food was absolutley delicious.

My friend who was not an adventurous eater was happy with her bagel with turkey and Swiss cheese. I felt sorry for her that she would not try some of the fantastic food. :confused3

Friends at home used to $8.00 Chinese buffets thought $20.00 Tusker House buffet was expesive. I think it was worth every penny and then some.

We ate at Tusker House last year and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Amazingly, there were a lot of empty seats during the prime dinner time. We made another ADR for Tusker House in March.

We also loved BOMA but we haven't tried Tusker House. As what I've read here, we better try it in our next trip. :thumbsup2

Have a nice day everyone. :)
