Tusker House For Dinner

Hi there,

We have made a reservation for dinner at Tusker House at the end of April as it will then have changed over to character dining. Our ADR is for 5:55pm and the park closes at 6pm. Has anyone had any experience of having the last ADR for dinner of the day? We are a bit worried that it may be quite a rushed experience as the park will be closed and the food may not be as fresh or abundant as it is a buffet and they are not going to be wanting to refill when it is the end of the day.
Any thought and opinions would be useful.

I'm wondering also if that time slot will be quieter and less Chaotic as I hear the lunch time is? We always loved dinners at TH and never had a problem with being rushed out or lack of fresh food. I say keep it!!

I can't help with question regarding the buffet at Tusker House but can give you our experience with a late ADR at Yak and Yeti Restaurant.

During our visits, the AK crowd level drops significantly in the last couple of hours before closing. We have been able to go on a lot of rides late so we enjoy being there near closing. When we had the late ADR, we finished up with the Safari with no wait before going the restaurant. It was nice to eat while the park emptied out; when we left, we took snapshots of walkways and bridges with no people in the background. We did not feel rushed during our meal. It was a great way to finish up the park.

If we had waited to eat until after we left the park and got back to our hotel or some other location, we would have been getting a little too hungry. (We usually eat supper kind of early.)

We had late dinner at RC at AK... It was kinda great!

We had to wait a while for the bus, we kinda thought it wasn't coming! It just took a while...

1) The whole idea is to bring in more revenue.
2) The dinner business at Tusker has been REALLY lackluster. *
3) They know hope for MAJOR crowds.
4) If they are right, DO NOT expect a quiet and/or less chaotic dinner.

* Breakfast and lunch can attract up to 1014 guests EACH. Dinners usually only bring in 200-400 guests.

that's sad because we liked the quietness and the food at TH, I love the disney characters dont get me wrong, but for some reason I hear that the breakfast and lunch seem more chaotic than other places due to the closeness of tables and the characters trying to maneuver around. Add in the parade and I am thinking we will not be eating here Unless people report back now with the changes that the dining room remains not as full. Its a gamble I guess. I know that AKL is close and Boma is delicious but TH was convenient.

Can someone tell me what is the price for dinner after they added characters? I am thinking to make reservation for my upcoming trip. Can't decide if we should eat at TH or go to AKL's Boma instead.
