Tusker House dinner for unadventurous kid?

I'm thinking of trying to get tickets to the ROLs dining package. The dinner for us would be Tusker House. I just looked at the menu and the food seems rather interesting. My DH would love that and I wouldn't mind trying some of the items. My DD (10) pretty much lives on chicken nuggets/strips, fries and pizza. There doesn't seem to be anything close. Is this what you found?

Thanks

They have a kids buffet section that has much simpler food than the regular buffet. I honestly don’t remember what all was on it. Was not traveling with kids and didn’t pay that much attention.

1) I would not worry about kiddies.
2) There are plenty of buffet items that kiddies will enjoy.

Thank you! I just wish their menu would show that.
I think at any disney TS, in addition to the kids menu items on "their" kids menu, nuggets, burgers and pizza are available - you just need to ask. The kids buffet at TH definitely had pizza and chicken nuggets last time I went (a while ago) - as a point of comparison, we went for brunch 2 weeks ago and there were scrambled eggs, tater tots, Mickey waffles and mini pigs in blankets in the kids buffet.

yeah, the kids buffet station at all restaurants always have the "usual". we were just there last week, i know for sure they had mac & Cheese, mashed potatoes, I'm almost positive chicken nuggets.....plus they had like sliced ham, green beans.....a few other things.

We have a DS13 with a similar palate to your DD. My only problem with these buffets is the up charge for a kid to eat a couple of slices of pizza and some mac and cheese and still have to pay an adult price. I know that's the way it is, but it still hurts! :crutches:But, i would do it for a ROL package. The dining package seating area was dead center and would probably give you the best view out of any of the choices (FP or SB). They also do the ROL package for breakfast at TH and the menu seems a bit more kid friendly.

Actually, there are no chicken nuggets, pizza, burgers, or fries for anyone on the Tusker House buffet. As @shellyj said, when we there on 8/12, they had mini corn dogs, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The carved proteins were pork and salmon. I distinctly remember, because DS is horribly picky. He didn't like any of it and would hardly even eat the bread. So, I think it depends upon the degree of pickiness:sad2: However, he loved the Wagyu at Tiffins without the sauce:confused3

EDIT: I also distinctly remember there not being any chicken nuggets at Tusker House in the few times we have eaten dinner/lunch there over the last few years. I keep forgetting that there's nothing there that DS will eat, and I walk out of there every time saying we won't eat there again. Maybe I'll remember next time:(

There were drumsticks on the kids' buffet the last time we were there. My younger son had 7 of them (he isn't picky, he just likes them).

When I ate lunch there in May, that was also the case.

Although since my toddler pretty much stole all of my husband's salmon, I didn't get him any, I figured he'd had enough protein!!

There are plenty of kid friendly things listed on the menu. No pizza, chicken tenders or fries, however.

FWIW, I was a very picky eater. Every time we went to WDW as a kid, my parents made me eat at least one restaurant to bring me out of my food comfort zone (usually somewhere in World Showcase.) WDW actually helped me become a more adventurous eater over time and I ended up looking forward to trying new things when we'd go. Maybe if you go, he will surprise you :)

We were there in July and at lunch I remember seeing mashed potatoes, baked chicken legs and mac n cheese at the kids' area. There was also cheese cubes and fresh fruit. It seems like that might be something kids would eat. There's always dessert!

We were just at Tusker House a couple of weeks ago. ODD (13) is SUPER picky, but she was able to get roasted chicken and some potatoes that she enjoyed.

We were there last week. And a boy at the next table ste chicken fingers and fries. The waitress brought it to him. Then his mom went to the buffet and fixed her plate. So you should ask when you get there about options.

I think the menu is diverse enough that a picky eater would enjoy it. My nephew managed no problem.

My dd has autism and eats very few things, I already talked to them and they will have chicken nuggets available at tusker house and ohana, you just have to let them know! seems like disney magic to me!
