I will be spending a few hours on my own at Animal Kingdom before meeting up with friends at EPCOT later in the day. I was thinking about doing the Tusker House breakfast buffet. I always like to do one nice breakfast and this one sounds good. Will I feel out of place as a solo diner or, as I suspect, is everyone so involved with their own families etc. that I won't stand out? Thanks, Beachfan :confused3

You won't stand out at all. As it's a buffet many people will be up getting food at any time so plenty of people will be sat alone eating while other party members are off to get food. Plus everyone is so immersed in eating/interacting with characters no ones going to notice...or care. It's Disney xD

I did breakfast at Tusker House as a solo, and it was fantastic. Nobody even noticed me. One of the best parts was that, unlike many other character meals, the characters here have handlers who are more than happy to snap photos using your camera! Go and please have a great time! :goodvibes

I have to agree with everyone, I did it solo, I took pictures with the characters and had a nice time. truly everyone is so involved in their own world you really don't stick out at all. most times they will put you to the side or near the wall. I don't think they would put you right in the center of the dining area.
you will love it, have fun and enjoy

I always say that unless you bear a striking resemblance to any of the characters there, no one's even going to notice you. And Tusker House was especially nice when I went solo. They didn't put me in the large, main room-I was in one of the side rooms-less noisy, but still in view of all the characters. And my server, as I've found at all character meals I've been to solo, was very nice. Kind of like she was especially concerned that I feel comfortable and have a good experience.

I went solo to the Disney Jr breakfast at H&V (yes, for the characters) and had a great time, so I certainly wouldn't be shy about going solo to Tusker House. :) Given the good reputation for the food at Tusker and the presence of the classic characters, I bet it draws a decent number of adults without kids.

I've done this several times because the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge are my favorite at WDW.

I've done 5 solo WDW trips and have done character breakfasts during all of them. LOVE Tusker House. You won't have any problem going solo. The handlers and characters are great. The other diners are too busy with their own family and character interactions to pay attention to anyone else.

I just booked a breakfast at Tusker House for one.:flower:I like that it's all classic characters because I love Mickey. I was a little tongue-tied when it came to a meet and greet last year but you all make Tusker House sound so friendly and appealing so I decided to brave it and go! I can't wait to get lots of pics with the characters!

I made a 10:20 reservation so that I wouldn't be there when it's busiest. Will there still be enough breakfast food around?

I've never done a solo character meal. I've always enjoyed dinner at Tusker House and now that thats a character meal I've been wondering if I should go for it or find somewhere else to eat. If I were to go and wanted to meet the characters, how do you manage to time trips to the buffet and not miss the characters?

I did my solo character meal at the Tusker House. I loved it so much that for my next trip (solo) I am gonna try Crystal Palace AND Chef Mickey's! The characters are so fun and give extra special attention. Plus at Tusker House the food is great, and they are in their awesome safari gear. So cute! Have fun!

Fortunately you can kind of see the characters coming, "track their progress".

The characters have a set path they follow and you can see them as they make the rounds. At all the character breakfasts I have been to, a cast member has always notified me that the characters would be coming around with in the next few minutes. They don't want you to miss a character either.

I've eaten twice at Tusker House during character meals and it was great. Someone comes around before the characters and asks if you want pictures with the character or not. No one notices that you're alone because they are just so busy with their own families and meals. I highly recommend going there.
