Tusker House Change Hours...UGH!!!!!!!!

Just needed to vent and get advice...Tusker House just called me and said they had to cancel my reservation...for November 12th at 4:55pm...because they are now closing their restaurant at 4:30pm. UGH...everything else is booked up!!!!!!!!! Sorry....but I am angry...I've had that thing booked from 180 days out. I just booked Whispering Canyon for 8pm...that seems so late. We are staying at WL...so eating there seemed okay since we would be at our resort...but am I going to miss any fireworks/parades at AK since I will leave before closing...they have EMH that evening. Yak & Yeti is a no go for my kids, Rainforest Cafe isn't on the plan, and BOMA at AKL is booked. HELP!!!

If you really want to stay at AK maybe just grab a CS dinner? From your post it seems like you're on the DP and want to use a TS credit...but if it's going to ruin your park plans I'd just get a CS and enjoy the EMH.

They really should have fit you in at an earlier time instead of just cancelling on you. Maybe if you complain enough they'll fit you in? lol Or try to call and get a ressie when you arrive, that might work.

Edit: Just checked the calendar and AK's parade is at 4 pm...so it doesn't appear you'll be missing much if you leave. The park is only open til 8 even with the EMH.

I don't think you will miss anything at AK since they never have fireworks and their only parade is the Jungle Jammin one at that is at 4.

For the night time EMH there are no special shows (just one showing of Lion King) and the handful of rides that are open.

Yeah...just talked to Dining...and was told I wouldn't miss anything at AK...no fireworks due to the animals...and the parade as you said...4pm...so I have booked us at SPOODLES at Boardwalk at 6:45...that way we can eat there and enjoy all the Boardwalk has to offer. We were torn between staying there and the WL...so since we chose to stay at WL...it will give us a chance to see Boardwalk...win/win situation...I'm actually pretty excited. Thanks for your info!!!!

Oh boy! I have a 4:55pm dinner adr for Tusker House on the 24th of Nov. I wonder if this will affect me?

Did they say that it's always closing at 4:30pm or just for a given time frame?? Guess I'll be calling Dining tomorrow--we have a 4:55pm on Dec.13.
Guess I'll be going to Plan B --oh wait ---I don't have a Plan B!!!!!----YET!!!!!!!!!

I have a 5:30 at Tusker House on Nov. 14. That's after trying to get an ADR there for Sat. the 15th for dinner and they told me on that day the restaurant was closing at 3:30. And they didn't know why. They had dinner open on Sun. the 16th and Fri. the 14th. I hope they don't cancel on me because I'm really looking forward to eating there.

When Tusker House called me to cancel my ADR...the lady said that they have now changed their hours and will be closing at 4:30pm. (Doesn't make sense to me...but okay...). So if you have any ADR's after that timeframe...they will either be calling you or you should call and change it...because it is hard to scramble for another ADR so late in the game. When I was on the phone with Disney Dining...they didn't know anything about the change in hours...so go figure. Definitely protect yourself and call and see what is going on. Hope everyone gets an ADR they can be excited about!!

Oh and by the way...Tusker House did have an opening for us...but it was at 2pm...too early for us to enjoy dinner...so I passed. I guess you could say they tried with what they had opened...but other than that...it was me scrambling.
