....for those of you who have eaten here, did you like it? How does it compare to Boma? Boma is an alltime favorite, and we will definitely be having dinner there on our eight night trip in May. Should we consider Tusker House for lunch on one of our AK days? We generally eat at Flame Tree at least once.

I've not eaten at Boma but I have eaten at Tusker House. We were pleasantly surprised by it! The amotsphere was fun, it looks like a bunch of carts and tables from an African marketplace and the seating was nice, not cramped together. The food was really good, my husband and 3 daughters thought so too! We particulary liked the "jamba" juice they offered...some kind of mixture of passionfruit and orange and guava maybe?? We're making it a point to eat here again when we go back to Animal Kingdom, especially since they're aren't many TS options there. :goodvibes

We ate there a month ago along with Boma (twice). There is absolutely no comparison. The food and selection at Bomas was great! We did not enjoy the Tusker House selection at all. There were very few different selection and one bowl of mixed fruit (we love fruit), so this was a disappointment. And at the time the dessert was so limited and not very good. I'm hoping it gets better.

We also did not have very good service. Our dishes were piling up as we went back to the buffet. We are not fast eaters and in all other buffets we have rarely seen our empty dishes not taken after we leave the table to get more. At tusker house, we had to pile our dishes on the side of the table and she didn't pick them up until it was 5 dishes high.:sad2: We were very disappointed.

thanks for the speedy responses. I think we will stick with our BBQ (but I wish they had that great corn on the cob instead of a carb-loaded sweet corn muffin).

I've dined for dinner at both. I just recently dined at the Tusker House for dinner. It was very good, but the food is very similar in taste in my opinion. I felt that Boma had more of a selection than Tusker House.

Here is a small review of the Tusker House I posted on the Podcast board.

Let me start off by saying this restaurant is very "Bomaish". For those of you who've dined at Boma at AKL you know what I mean. The flavors of this restaurant are similar. Before checking in we watched the Jammin Jungle parade in Harmbe Village (Africa). Just to let you know I think watching the parade from Harambe provides the best viewing; specifically near the Dawa Bar.

The service we received during our dinner was wonderful. Our waitress Kelly was always available to refill drinks and continually asked us if we needed anything. We found the food to be "adventureous". All of the food was spiced to the "flavors of Africa". I was a little disappointed in the food selection. It seemed limited in my opinion, but the food was good. I would rate the service a 9 out of 10 and the food a 7.5 out of 10.

Our waitress found out it was Anna's B-Day yesterday and she brought her out a very unusual birthday card. This card looked funny to me because it did not have the icon of the 4th Disney World park, the Animal Kingdom. The 3 others were there, but not the Tree of Life. I asked her about that and she said it was an old card. It was made before the Animal Kingdom was built.

Here's the birthday card.

My plate of food from the buffet. The string beans were very flavorful.

Here are some other photos from the restaurant. The buffet area resembles a marketplace and is very expansive. I like the fact the dishes are underneath the food.

We never made it to Boma- but TH was one of our favorite meals of the trip. Selection was great (someone called it Boma Lite), service was good for us and everything was nice and fresh. We enjoyed it quite a bit and since it was so hot at the AK- it is really nice to get out of the heat to sit and eat.
