Tusker House-Best place at AK?

What is the new buffet like at Tusker House? Is it authentic and good quality and not one of those mass produced buffets? Haven't been to Boma so I can't make that comparison.

My family and I had dinner there right before Christmas. We thought the service was excellent and though food was decent, nothing was exceptional. It wasn't bad, but it was the worst meal of our trip, and I would have been upset if we were not on the DDP and paid $30 pp out of pocket. If you're up for it, I'd suggest you go to Boma where there is better quality and much more selection.

We had lunch and thought it was wonderful. I cannot vouch for the American food, though -- I'd say it looked pretty standard buffet. There was no way I was filling up on buffet beef and pork when I could have samosas, cous cous, unusual salads, chicken curry, etc. My family also really liked the salmon. Desserts were fun and even included baklava.

Is it a big improvement upon Yak & Yeti? We're not on the DDP.

We had lunch there on 11/30 and though I liked it very much, my friend wasn't too impressed as she isn't into anything but American fare. I loved trying all the new dishes and would go back again.

We have not eaten at Tusker house, but had lunch at Yak n Yeti a week ago and loved it. We are two adults and two kids and I find that we never ever eat our money's worth at buffets. Our lunch at Yak was superb and half the price we would have spent at a buffet. My husband and I split 3 appetizers and it was more then enough food for us.
