Hi been a while since I have been on these boards. Just after a bit of advice on which of the above are the best places to stay or are there any other areas for villas that can be recommended. My bro and family are going on their first visit next year and are looking for villas. I just want them to hane the minimum travelling time to Disney.

Thanks for any help.

Hi :goodvibes

We have stayed at both WH and EI, both very close Disney and very nice communities. We also like staying on Formosa Gardens. IIRC WH and EI both have 24hr manned gates and communal pools, FG does not....

IMHO all of these communites are great (FG is our favourite), close to Disney, close to the US192 with all it's restaurants so for me it would be a case of finding the villa that suited us best at the best price etc as you can't go wrong with any of the locations..... :goodvibes

We did a Villa last year and stayed at Emerald Island - it was very nice (although Villas are not for us - we prefer resorts/onsite)

However, there is a great little short cut from Emerald Island/Formosa Garden area to Animal Kingdom and Disney property via Sherberth Road. Literally took no more than 10 minutes to get to AK from our Villa.

For proximity to Disney we found this area an excellent choice.

Have no experience of Tuscan Hills but have stayed at Emerald Isle and Windsor Hills. Distance-wise there was not much between them getting to Sherberth road, I would say Windsor Hills was closer but we often stopped back via the Winn-Dixie in Formosa Gardens which is closer to Emerald Isle.

We are DVC members now at Animal Kingdom and by the time we have got out the resort it isn't much longer from either.

Windsor Hills possibly has more flexibility in house types with condos, 3 bed town houses and villas of all shapes and sizes. The townhouses are great when travelling and you don't want to share the same villa and still get a small splash pool.

Also Windsor Hills community pool is more freeform and has a zero depth entry beach and slide. The Emerald Isle pool is more rectangular.

That said the nicest villa we have stayed in was in Emerald Isle and with the villa pool we didn't head out to the community pool and everything was lovely. :confused3

So as PP said pick the villa to match their needs both seemed really safe.

Thanks for the info I will pass it on x
