Turtle Talk with Crush - any strategy?

We are really looking forward to visiting the Living Seas this trip as it was closed during our trip last year. I have read that Turtle Talk with Crush is a must-see attraction and has created some very long wait times. About how long are we talking? I have a DS2 who doesn't "wait" very well. Are there any times that you have found that are better than others (first thing in the am., late afternoon...) to minimize waiting? Is it possible to have DH, DS7 and DN9 wait in line, while I walk DS2 around until it is time to enter (only IF he is getting impatient) - or is this a big no-no? Looking for suggestions/experiences - thanks!!!

We've been many times and have never waited less than 30 minutes. Seems the line is perpetually long.... But the good news is that it's a great show and worth the wait. The queue is in an open area, so I don't see any problem walking your DS around. Plus, there's a Kidcot station nearby that you could visit as a diversion while the rest of your family waits in line.

Here's the only strategy that WILL work every day.

The Seas pavillion opens at 9am, but Turtle Talk starts its first show at 10am.

Be in the queue by 9:40 or so. You will be among the first to see the show that day (first or secind show, they are about 15 min. in length).

Sorry to have to say it, but you WILL be waiting in a line, THAT is a given with this atraction.

Thanks for all of the helpful responses! I knew that there would be some amount of waiting, but everyone has a different definition of LONG lines - we (with DS2) could easily handle a wait of 15 min, 30 is starting to push it, 60+ - forget it! I just wanted to be prepared for how LONG of a wait it actually was. Good to know that the queue is an open area - DS2 may be able to have a little room to "roam". Also, thanks for the info. about the Kidcot station - do you really think that it is OK to take DS2 there while the others wait in line? I don't want to get nasty looks when we get back into line with our family. I also didn't realize the first show wasn't until 10:00 - good to know - I assumed it would be at 9:00 with the Living Seas. Maybe we will try the 9:40 strategy and hope to be one of the first groups in???Thanks again everyone!

Don't you just love it when people give you that nasty "what the heck to you think you're doing by joining up with your family!" Hasn't everyone at one time in their life had to use the facilities or whatever and then meet up with their family in line? People just need to CHILL Don't worry ducky! Just enjoy your vacation and say hi to Mickey for me!

We went the last week of June, and even though the line was long in the afternoon (at least 45 minutes), we came back about 7:00 in the evening and only waited about 5 minutes. Good luck, it's a great show. Even our teens loved it. So funny and original!

If anyone gives you a dirty look, show them the Kidcot souvenir your DS made. I'm sure they'll think it's wonderful and then they'll loosen up. Seriously, folks should worry about other things besides a mom and her 2 year old getting back in line....

As per usual, Robo is absolutely on-the-money w/ the guaranteed strategy to enjoy. We just did the 1st show of the day last week & I can promise it works exactly as he has described. The only way our trip might have worked any better was if he personally led us by the hand -- which he almost did, I took notes of many of his strategies & carried them w/ me while there. My DH could not believe how well things worked for us & asked me this morning while unpacking if I still wanted them. Duh! I'm saving them! He was particularly amused about 15 min. ago when I had them out as a guide to answer a question from another DISer, looking for guidance. (I happily passed along what I knew, w/ credit given to Robo, of course!)

We haven't seen this yet - and this was what I was planning. We'll try to sneak in at the end of the day, before we head over to World show case.

We are staying near Epcot and plan on more than a few Epcot evenings. Hopefully we'll hit Crush at least one night!

I was planning on hitting soarin first and then heading to turtle talk.

I am so happy that you had a good time using some of my suggestions.
Imagine how I must feel that someone else got to enjoy their trip based on the tips from the things that I do to make MY OWN trips so much fun.
(It's like "lending" someone else "my WDW vacation".)

Soarin' (and most FW attractions, other than Turtle Talk) opens at 9am on regular opening days, and 8am on EMH days.
