Turtle Cove

Can you get to turtle cove for snorkeling without going on an excursion ? Or is the doubloon sail the way to go ?

Did anyone see a lot of turtles ?


My DD loves them since she is a big NEMO fan.

If you are talking about the Turtle Cove at the St. Thomas stop, I would say other than an excursion you would have to book a private charter to go there.

I believe this is off an island other than St. John or St. Thomas.

We did the Capt. Nautica (the early trip) and this was one of 3 spots that we went to. We were the 1st group there that day and it was awesome to swim with the turtles. We saw them right away.

Now there were other excursions that arrived later and I remember some of the people asking us if we had seen any because they didn't.

Would emphatically second the Capt Nautica excursion. The boats are high speed and very fun. The staff was wonderful. We saw turtles and rays at the first stop. The second stop was Cinnamon beach on St Johns. Very beautiful beach and good snorkeling. We only did 2 stops on the late tour. I think this was because of the rough water between stops and the longer travel time. Also, the Magic leaves at 4:30.

yes, we booked though DCL. They do have a website, www.captainnautica.com

We were suppose to go to Cinnamon Bay, but they changed their mind and took us to the St. James area. They said that due to conditions, they thought St. James would be better. I've never been to Cinnamon Bay ( I have heard it was beautiful), but I'm sure glad they changed their minds because it was absolutely beautiful.

They told us that since they don't specify where they are going, it is very easy to change destinations if they think snorkeling will be better somewhere else.
