We have done both the DP and QSDP, we like both. I wish the 2 could marry. I want to do a few TS, but all in all I don't want the schedule of having to be somewhere every day. I'd love to have 2-3 TS with 2-3 QS (plus the other QS meals). Is there ANY way of being able to turn a TS to QS meal? It would only need to be 1-2 of our Regulare Dining Plan table service credits.

To pay out of pocket for the 2 restaurants I really want to do is the difference (if not more).

I do enjoy the DP, but it's a lot of food!

Typically no. But sometimes they do allow this.

Usually during a free dining promotion they will allow you to use a TS credit at a CS place.
But it can be hit or miss. And reports indicate that it only happens when free dining is going on.

So I wouldn't count on this, especially if you are going when free dining isn't available.

I honestly think it is a hit or a miss. We choose to add the QSDP to our package beacuse 10 days of adr's is way to many. We are paying for 2 op but one is T-rex the other prboably Tusker house or Arskrhus. Have you done a break down that is what i did. To go to the regular plan is another 200.00. Our 2 ts meals with tip will be under 200.00. Then we figure we are saving another 250 between tips we would have to leave and 4 mugs. Plus we like the extra snacks for the parks and breakfest for the girls.

See that is the same here. I love the TS restaurants, but the hassle of every day having a reservation. I know, based on the last 3 years, we will be hungry around 11am (we are atlantic time so that is our noon time). So if we don't do a breakfast meal, I will have a lunch reserved. If it wasn't for all the great restaurants in Epcot, i might be pursuaded to go with QS. For us, it's about $160 difference between the 2 DPs. By the time we do Crystal palace 2 adults 2 kids, and San Angel Inn, we've got that $160 covered. I agree, tips can be hefty. But we are planning 7 months out, so it shouldn't be too much of a big deal.

DH is happy with QS. The 2 snacks are another thing. Even though TS will provide more than enough food. I always grab a piece of fruit and bring it with us from the buffets. I can eat popcorn all day if I could...popcorn:: Hmm so yeah.. I see the point there... I will have to sit and really figure it out....

One trip our son got really sick:sick: 1/2 through our vacation... We had to cancel a lot of our TS meals. The CMs at POP were fabulous - basically we were told that most of the CS places in the Parks were not set up system wise to switch them over. But it would not be a problem at the food court at our resort. We were told if there was a problem at any of the CS places in the Parks, we could check back in with the desk at POP and they would help us convert them. Moral of the story - I wouldn't count on being able to do so easily in the Parks.

We've always been able to do this without a problem. Actually, we've also always been able to exchange 1 QS meal for 3 snacks too. Having said that, we've only ever tried to do it at our resort (Contempo. cafe, Pop food court and ASMo food court.) We've never had a problem using a TS credit for a QS meal and have never had a problem using a QS credit for 3 snacks. We have never tried anywhere, but our resort though. We've been doing this for a few years now, however we have always gone when traditionally free dining has been offered, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

My husband asked about this last year during free dining. The commitment to TS ADRs can be overwehlming. Base camp was All-Star Music. My husband was told TS credits can be used for CS at All-Stars, because a TS restaurant is not available. While at the Poly, he also asked and was told you would be taking a decrease in the benefit. Sort of, "Why would you do that?" I would ask, it doesn't hurt. All they can say is, "no."
