Turning multi-day into single day

We have 2 day tickets and are probably going to make it a single day trip.

Reading the print on my tickets, it looks like we'll get credit for the unused portion.
Can you please confirm that?

Also, is there something we need to do to cancel the park reservation for the second day?

No, you will not get credit for the unused portion. If the ticket was wholly unused, you would get credit for the price paid for the ticket even after it expires. This credit can only be applied to the purchase of a new ticket of equal or higher cost. But if you use a day and decide not to use the second day, then you will forfeit the remaining value.

You can cancel a park reservation by going into your reservations on the website and selecting "cancel reservation". It'll go through a couple screens including one to confirm which tickets you want to cancel reservations for.

You cannot downgrade a ticket. Your best option if you can't use the second day would be to buy single day tickets (these do use a tier system unlike the multi day tickets) and save the 2 day tickets for another trip. They will retain value even if they expire as previously mentioned, but will need to be exchanged at the booths for new tickets if they have expired.

Above poster has the right idea. I'd save the 2 day for later.

Prices (no G+) for 1 day hopper range from $164-224. A two day hop is $315. If you 'burn' one day of that two day ticket you stand to lose between $91 to $151 as opposed to buying a one day ticket and keeping the two day to use later.

Disney tickets (unused) do retain their face value. This means if there is a price increase before you return you would pay the difference between your current tickets and the new ticket price.

PS unused tickets are the perfect excuse to plan another trip!

We changed plans and will go to Universal Studios instead. Husband reminded me that I promised our teen we would take him for his birthday. (At a convenient time.).

I used the credit from my Disney Visa card to pay for the tickets, so I don’t have any actual $$ tied up. Will save them for another day.
(We live in the Bay Area, so a southern ca trip isn’t a big deal.). Plus I’ve heard US is a lot less crowded right now and we are pretty crowd phobic. (We are vaccinated and booster so I’m not too worried about getting really sick, but I’m worried about my kids having to miss a lot of school.)

Thanks everyone!
