I am enjoying reading about your trip!! I ave been reading these boards since 1998 and I have NEVER writeen a trip report. I probably should, huh? I have many stories to tell!

I am with you, live, eat, and breath Disney! I look so forward to my trips that sometimes...I don't want to go b/c I get so sad to come home, i's weird...I go through this depression thing, well not really depression, I just pout allot and my DH gets really annoyed with me and doesn't understand. He says, "It's not like your'e never going back, get over it and grow up!!" Meanie ;)

Someday I'll get a trip report in...
I get confused though, b/c some peoples trip reports are in bits and pieces, I wish there was a way to read an entire trip report in one place....is there?

Thanks so much for posting! You have been around here for a while, and never a trip report?? You should do one. It is so much fun. I love it because each time I do a post, it's like I'm reliving my trip. I completely understand the disney depression thing. I am kind of in that funk right now. I'm not depressed, I just really want to go back! Sad, I know. I think it's because I've been booking so many trips for friends and family that I am jealous! We were supposed to try and go for a weekend getaway for my birthday on 12/19 but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. It's just too much to ask anyone to baby sit the weekend before Christmas. Too much going on. Besides, we are having a big family reunion type of Christmas party that weekend and I don't want to miss it.

I'm not sure what you mean about reading an entire trip report in one place. Do you mean is there a way to read it without all of the other posts from readers??:confused3 Let me know and I'd be happy to help!

Thanks for reading along. I appreciate it!

From weather.com "Right now for Bronx, NY: 35*F, Feels like 26*F" :scared1: Winds 15 mph, gusting to 20. Yeah and I forgot my scarf and mittens today...and it's only NOVEMBER. :cold: I don't think an outdoor fire pit would help much in this situation. :rotfl: Right now for Baton Rouge, LA: 61*F, Feels like 61*F. Don't rub WHAT in?!?!?

We are planning to move, but not until this summer or even 2010. The cost of living here is just so ridiculously high that pigs would fly before we could afford a "normal" house and a car in this area. That, and I enjoy teaching but not necessarily here. Funny thing is, I told my friend I might be moving and she was like "Oh! My friend is a realtor! You should get to know her!" I said "oh really...where is she?" (cuz you know, location is kinda important when it comes to realtors) My friend: "Oh, she's in Baton Rouge, Louisiana." :headache:

I do love looking at house plans and dreaming though. And house ad descriptions can be hilarious! "Cozy loft-style house in up and coming neighborhood is ready to be completed with ALL NEW appliances of your choice!" (Read: tiny house with no walls in bad area has no fridge, stove, or bathroom fixtures!)

So true, so funny!
Ok, I cannot even imagine what 26 degrees feels like:scared1: We went to NYC for a day on our honeymoon (the rest was spent at the Poconos:laughing: ) in February and I remember the wind chill was 23 degrees. My face felt like it was going to fall off! I know the cost of living is crazy up there. I love watching House Hunters on HGTV. When they show things costing like $400/sf I just cringe. How in the world does any normal person afford that? Do they offer longer mortgages? Just don't get it. And how much more random can you get about your friend having a realtor friend in BR??? Weird. The average cost per sf here is $125ish. Much more reasonable. You should consider moving down here:lmao:

I would love to go to down town disney by myself. Your so lucky. I bet it was relaxing. I love to shop. I would also like to do a solo trip one day. I am glad you took the shrink wrap off Brendan for his nap. I don't think I want to go to that character dinner until Grace is older. I do think it would be funny to take Courtney there. She is old enough to think it is funny.

It was very nice to get away by myself to DTD. It was relaxing and exciting to be doing it by myself. Jason is usually my directions person. I could get lost in my own house:lmao: Good thing I know WDW like the back of my hand! I would love to see Courtney's reaction to those step sisters or Lady Tremaine. I have a feeling there would be a whole lof of eye rolling going on!:rolleyes1

I thought I replied to this but I guess not? :confused3

I love Beaches and Cream and I love that coffee scoop you got. :goodvibes I go to Beaches and Cream every trip. I always get a milkshake.

Those stepsisters do look evil. I love the cards you put all over the place for Aubrey. What a fun idea. :thumbsup2 You really are very creative!

Speaking of coffee...was it this thread that I read where you found individual coffee filters with coffee for hotel coffee pots? That stuff they try to pass off as coffee in the hotel rooms is a disgrace, but I can't find coffee that is sold in a packet like the hotel filter things. I did find coffee that was in a teabag-like filter. :confused3 I may end up having to take normal filters and some pre-measured coffee in ziplock bags with me. Like my coffee at home isn't the greatest (it's Maxwell House) but it's better than that Nescafe or that no-name stuff in the rooms. :sad2:

I think I did this post while you were writing your last response. We must have just missed each other!

The desserst at BNC were unbelievable. I would def go back for ice cream but would probably skip the food.

The birthday card idea was actually Jason's idea. I should give him some credit. I did think of getting the cards and signing them as the characters but it was his idea to hide them around the park and resort. It was fun.

I did get the individual Community Coffee packets for the trip. This was a tip from Laura, Couteau_Chick! Thanks again for that:thumbsup2 I found them at Walmart on the coffee aisle. I'm sure you can order them off of the CC website. I say I'm sure, but I've never checked. There is nothing worse than weak coffee. Community is the best. I'm drinking some right now, as a matter of fact:surfweb: I wouold be happy to mail you some if you can't find any. When are you leaving for your trip, and can I come???

Let me know about the coffee, I would be happy to help!

So if you can't imagine 26 degrees, I suppose you can't imagine 0. :rotfl: And we had an OUTDOOR field trip on Wednesday, so I was outside all day with temperatures in the 30s. BRRR. Yes, I am sick today. I wonder why?

I honestly don't know how normal people afford to live here. There is not a huge middle class. A lot of people are living in slummy apartments on section 8 and in the housing projects, and a lot of people make a LOT of money and can afford nice housing. The rest of us leave after we get fed up. They all go to North Carolina or Florida. Somebody today asked me (out of the blue) if I was moving to North Carolina. There are not a lot of jobs there so probably not. Who knows. And yes, it is a little odd her friend is a realtor in BR. My friend keeps telling me I should move to BR. You know you have a WALMART!!

I had seen those individual packet things on CC website like a week ago. I did not see them yesterday. :confused3 They vanished? And my WalMart is more than an hour away by bus and train. I have never seen Community here so I don't think WalMart has it either. I will tell my friend in BR (she is going to be at WDW the same time as me) to look at WalMart's coffee aisle. I swear she is there every day. And on occasion I'll even get photo messages from her of something from WalMart. The most recent was a picture of LSU Tiger burgers. :lmao:

I'm flying down to WDW on the 11th (late!) and leaving the evening of the 14th. Sure you could join up with us!

Great updates! That ornament that says "first family trip" is really cute.

Stormalong Bay looks like so much fun! All I can say is I hope it will be warm enough for us to use it when we're there (just 26 days to go...:cool1: ).

I know, I know. I'm a complete slacker! I have been thinking about you lately in the cold weather. The weather has been crazy here - getting down into the 30's at night and up to the upper 60's during the day. Nothing like running the heat all night and the AC during the day! Gotta love South La!

So, I do not know what I would do without a Walmart!!! Seriously, I go there at least once a week. It's just so convenient. Where else can you go to get milk, socks, bread, and a gallon of paint all in the same store!:lmao: I have never seen the tiger burgers. I will have to look for those. I have seen Mickey burgers though but I'm sure they have those everywhere. I hope your friend has luck finding the coffee. The 11th will be here before you know it! I'm so excited for you. Do you have any fun dinner plans made yet? And I certainly hope you plan on doing a trip report???

BTW - of I wasn't so unhealthily close to my family who all lives here in Baton Rouge (I am the youngest of 7) I would be living in North Carolina. You get so much for your money there. I guess finding a job would be important though!

A post is coming soon. I am uploading pics now. Thanks for your patience:)

Thanks! I thought they did a really good job with the ornament. I love it. Our tree will be covered with Mickeys. We have a ton. I think they're so cute! SAB is amazing! I really really really hope you get to enjoy it on your trip!!!

Happy Turkey Day Eve!

Hello all! I know that most of you, like me, have tons of things you should be doing right now to get ready for tomorrow instead of being on the computer, but oh well! It's been a busy week for us. My in-laws have been in town so we haven't had much down time. I'm taking a few minutes here to do a quick post. Hopefully I won't get interrupted!

Ok, so day 6...

Today, we decided to sleep in and take it easy. The plan was to hang out at SAB and then head over to Epcot for the Wine and Food Fest. I woke up bright and early and went down to the Beach Club Market for some breakfast. I got a egg and cheese croissant. It was very greasy but it did the job. I called the front desk to check the pool hours. I couldn't remember when the pool opened. I knew that the quiet pool right outside our window must have opened pretty early because there was usually someone out there when we woke up. The girl at the front desk told me that the pools opened at 7. I was excited to hear this because I wanted to get down there! We ended up getting to the big pool right at 9:40. It was unusually quiet. No one in the water:confused3 We found a life guard and she told us that the big pool didn't open until 10:00:headache: The girl at the front desk must have misunderstood me. The quiet pool opened at 7 but the big pool didn't open until 10. I was perturbed. So we gathered everyone back up and walked over to the quiet pool. We had 20 minutes to kill and with 2 kids who were very eager to get in the water, we figured we had to take them over there. It really wasn't a big deal. The morning went by so quickly. Once we got to the big pool, we rented a family tube and hung out on the lazy river for a while. The kids loved this and so did I. I could have literally stayed there all day but we had to feed the kids. We ate lunch at Hurricane Hannah's. Chicken nuggets for the kids and I think salads for us. Must have not been that memorable! Aubrey had fun feeding the ducks and birds. Nothing wears out kids like a morning of sun and swimming. The kids were getting cranky and ready for a nap. We headed upstairs and attempted to put them down. For some reason, they were just too wound up to sleep. We tried for about an hour and then gave up. We decided to head over to Epcot and have some food and drinks.

We walked over via the international gateway. Let me just say again how wonderful it is to be so close to Epcot. I mean, how nice is it to be able to just pop over to the World Showcase when you feel the urge! I want to be there now! Anyway, we took a left this time and walked through the UK. We stopped here for a beer but I can't remember what time. It was good though, that I remember! We ended up in Canada for a while. I wanted to show the kids the waterfall and Aubrey had seen the little tiki photo spot earlier in the trip and wanted to take a picture. Here we are...

I snapped this pic because I've never noticed the maple leaves in the fence. Thought it was cool...

Uhhhh, my phone is ringing, the oven is beeping, and the kids are screaming! I need to run. I'll be back later with more. SORRY!

Haha well I have a photo of the TigerBurgers on my phone. I could forward it to you. They say "LSU Tigers Beef Patties. So good they'll make you roar!" :rotfl: Another picture I have from her WalMart is of the empty shelves following Gustav. They were EMPTY. Not one thing anywhere.

She did not find the coffee. We think maybe they stopped making it in those little packs. It's okay though. It's not that difficult to just pack some coffee and a few filters. Not sure about a trip report....guess I should. I have not been that excited about the trip lately. Some people are being petty and the drama is stupid.

You get a lot for your money a lot of places, especially when compared to NYC!

Oh...and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Can I just say that your 77 degree weather sounds really nice right about now?!?

OMG. :scared1: I am so sorry my friend. :sad2:
And I know you know what I'm talking about. :headache:

The shelves after Gustav were pretty bad but not as bad as after Katrina. That was a joke. At least we got power back pretty quickly after Katrina. Uhhhh, I'm having Gustav flashbacks:scared1: So glad that's all over. Well, not really. There are still piles of trash everywhere and blue tarps on every other roof. Probably will be there until next hurricane season. Speaking of, I think today is the official last day of Hurricane season!!!!!:cool1: What a year!

I wonder why she can't find the coffee packs. I haven't noticed them lately. Maybe they did stop making them.

Sorry that you are having Disney drama. Once you get there, it will all be worth it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Same to you Laura. Hope y'all had a wonderful holiday.

And I know you know what I'm talking about. :headache:

You know, I'm over it. There's such drama going on with the team. Keeping Lee in as quarterback just to save Jefferson's redshirt. It's been pretty crappy. Thank God the season is over. And woo hoo, we're going to Shreveport! From National Champions to the Independence bowl. Gotta love that! I know USC does!

Anyway, enough venting.

I forgot to post this pic when we were in the UK. We tried to lock the kids in the phone booth for a cute pic, but it didn't work. For a split second, I thought about leaving them there but decided against it:rotfl2:

fantasmic018.jpg

Alright, so we decided to hang out in Canada and check out the scenery. It was a beautiful day...

fantasmic016.jpg

There are A LOT of steps in Canada which made this journey not stroller friends. It's amazing how we never noticed these things before when we weren't pushing around two kids in a stroller! Brendan had a ball. His idea of heaven is one huge staricase that he can climb up and down all day!

fantasmic025.jpg

I did manage to grab him for a second to snap a pic in front of the waterfall. You can see that he wasn't too interested. He had his eye on those steps!

fantasmic019.jpg

After I got my quads workout for the day from all of those steps, we headed over to Mexico and decided to get another one of those yummy margaritas. They are soooooo good. I highly recommend them. I showed mine off!

fantasmic027.jpg

Aubrey stopped to pose for a picture. Too cute...

fantasmic032.jpg

From there, we stopped by China to check out the acrobats. Aubrey loved this. These kids are so talented. Check out this action shot...

fantasmic035.jpg

We wanted to stop and see the candy lady. I had read a few tips on how to get Aubrey picked to get a piece of candy but she was nowhere to be found. I was bummed. Oh well, on to the next drink!

We walked for a while and came across a concert going on at The American Pavillion. Starship! You know, "we built this city on rock n' roll". They acrtually sounded pretty good. Aubrey did not agree...

fantasmic044.jpg

Somewhere along the way, I snapped this pic of Aubrey playing by a big ball of yarn. I can't remember where this was:confused3

fantasmic040.jpg

Here's another cute pic of Aubrey from somewhere in the world showcase. Maybe the drinks had something to do with my memory problems!

fantasmic045.jpg

It had been a while and we were closing in on the International Gateway. As we passed through France, I noticed the cute little parasail umbrellas that you can have personalized. Aubrey had an umbrella at home that had just broken so I figured I what better one to replace it with than one from Disney! I placed my order while Jason went ahead. I would meet up with him after my purchase. Well, I got a bit side tracked with the scenery. I just love this part of the world showcase. France is beautiful. I resisted the urge to get a glass of champagne and headed over the bridge. I spoted a photopass person and decided to treat myself to a solo picture.

image78.jpg

I slowly walked towards the gates and decided to take a short cut, or long cut, through the gift shop. There was a sweet older man working here who was very chatty. I enjoyed talking to him and explaining that I was having a quiet moment while my husband took the kids ahead of me. I spotted a cute mug and decided to buy it. It has a bunch of seagulls on it saying "Mine, mine, mine" from Finding Nemo. It's cute. As a matter of fact, I'm drinking my coffee out of it right now!:surfweb:

I knew Jason would be well ahead of me by now and wondering where I was. I felt a little bad so I picked up the pace to catch up with him. When I left the gift shop and exited the gates, I noticed our abandoned stroller sitting outside of the bathrooms. I assumed that he had taken Aubrey in for a potty stop but wondered why he just didn't wait until we got to the room:confused3 I went to the men's bathroom and yelled inside but there was no answer back. Ok, now I was getting a little freaked out. Where in the world were they. Were they abducted outside the gates of Epcot!!!! Just before I approaced the security guard, I heard Aubrey's voice. I turned to see Jason chasing her while carrying Brendan on his hip. Aparantly, she had gotten out of the stroller while they were waiting for me to catch up and took off! Jason couldn't leave Brendan in the stroller to go chase her so he had to carry him along. He was furious with her. I was too. It was time to get some dinner. Uhhhhh, 3 year olds!

We really didn't have plans for the night so I called in an order for us at Hurrican Hannahs and we ate in the room while watching old cartoons. The night was young and I was ancy. I wanted to do something. Jason was beat and Brendan was half asleep. Aubrey and I decided to have a girl's night out and went to DHS to catch Fantasmic. This was a fun outing. I will tell you all about it next!

Hi
I hope everything is ok. I miss your updates. Just checking in to say hi.
Laura :flower3:

Thanks for checking in. I am here and always thinking about my DIS friends. Just getting to the computer and actually having a few minutes to post seems to get more and more difficult every day! I hope you are doing well. I am off to upload some pics. I am determined to get a post done today!!!

Hello everyone. I really mean it when I say that even though I am not posting every day, I am always thinking about my DIS friends. I am always thinking about my trip report and what I need to write about. I just wish there were more hours in the day sometimes, ya know! Especially this time of year. There is ALWAYS something to do. And ontop of that, I am coming down with the flu for the second time this year! Yesterday, I felt terrible but my husband was on a mission to get the house decorated for Christmas. I don't know what it is this year. I'm just not into it. I usually decorate my house from top to bottom. If it stands still, it's being covered with some kind of garland or lights! This year, I just am not into it. Jason, however, is the Christmas Nazi!!! He was dragging me around yesterday and we actually got it all done. Our tree is beautiful this year. Probably the most perfect tree we've ever had. I will upload a pic for you to see later. Anyway, I am happy it's done and everything looks beautiful and festive. Maybe now I can relax a bit. So...on to my post.....

When I last left you, we had just gotten back to our room after a day in the World Showcase. Brendan and Jason were beat but me and Aubrey were ready to do something. I decided to have a girl's night out and we headed over to DHS for Fantasmic. This was our first time out together alone. We walked down to the boat lauch and waited for the DHS ferry. The ride there was smooth. We had about 40 minutes until the show started so I wasn't worried. I know that people get a little obsessed with lining up for Fantasmic. I have never gotten in line more than 30 minutes early and always end up getting a good seat. There really isn't a bad seat in the house! We got there and walked right in. I was extremely thirsty so we got a Coke on the way to our seats. And guess where those seats ended up being..... Front row center!!! It was awesome. Aubrey was so excited. She had no idea what to expect but knew it would be good! I love Fantasmic. It truly took my breath away the first time I saw it. And to be this close, it was really special for us. Ok so we're sitting there waiting and here comes the cotton candy man. Why not - we're in Disneyworld afterall! We both thoroughly enjoyed our sugar fix. The show started and I could barely take my eyes off of Aubrey. She was in awe! I don't have any pictures of her reaction but I did get a few of the show. You can get an idea of just how close we were...

Aubrey got pretty scared when all of the villains came out. I assured her that everything would be ok as she watched every move that they made. When it was all over, she screamed "Mickey saved the day mommy"! It was so funny because she's never said that before. We had such a good time. The show was over and it was time to make our way back to the boat. We stopped to take a photopass pic first. This actually turned out to be one of my favorite pics of the trip. It's a reminder of our fun girl's night out....

image29.jpg

The boat ride home was a little rough. She was so tired and cranky. There was a nice man sitting next to us who obviously had kids of his own, although they were not there with him. He had a slinky dog that he had bought for one of them and let Aubrey play with it. All was well. We got back to our room and crashed. Aubrey was so excited to tell Jason about all that we saw. It was great night!

Next up... more Epcot and MNSSHP!!!

Ooohhh...decorations! I need to put some up but am feeling lazy this year. Well, maybe not lazy, just too much going on. I'm working extra hours at work, finishing my masters, planning a WDW trip, and planning a move. Decorating is not quite at the top of the list. If the decorations ever go up they may not come down!! I'd love to see pictures of yours though.

That is great that you had that girls night out! And those seats you had at Fantasmic were simply fantastic! (sorry couldn't resist! )

I LOVE Slinky Dog! It's great that that man let Aubrey play with his so she wasn't as cranky. :goodvibes This is the one I bought at WDW in 2006. Did that guy's look like this one?

I wanted to share my snow pictures with you. I hope you have some to share too. How exciting SNOW in Louisian!!!!!

Yes! That is the slinky dog! I'll have to find one for Aubrey. Maybe you could pick me up one SINCE YOU AT WDW RIGHT NOW:rotfl: i hope you are having a wonderful time with your friends. I can't wait to hear all about it. Let me know when you're back!

I wanted to share my snow pictures with you. I hope you have some to share too. How exciting SNOW in Louisian!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing you snow pictures. You house looks absolutely beautiful. Like something out of a movie! I LOVE your porch. That's the last big thing I want to do to my house. We have made lots of changes since we've moved in and a front porch is my last, biggest project! I'm about to put up some of my snow pics.

Hello everyone! What a week we've had here in South Louisiana. I know that all of my northern DISers used to snow will get a kick out of this! It actually snowed here, and stuck! I mean really snowed! I was laying in my bed, sound asleep Thursday morning when my phone rang at 5:15am! I was furious with whoever it was on the other end of the phone until I heard my sister scream
"It's snowing! It's snowing!" I thought to myself, yeah right. I opened the shade in my bedroom and look what I saw!!!!!

It was so surreal! I haven't seen snow in Baton Rouge since 2001. And this was a real snow storm. The weather man on TV kept calling it a "thundersnow". I have never heard that term before and it cracks me up! Anyway, I took a ton of pictures and video so I thought I wouls share some with you. This was such a fun day. The whole city pretty much shut down. No school, no work. It was great. A real snow day - or in S. La - a SNEAX DAY!

Here's a pic of the side of my house. The snow was really coming down...

Even in the snow, my poor dog Duke had to go out. He did not like it. Look at his face. I swear he was actually saying "brrrrrrrrrr"

We just had to get Aubrey out of bed to see this. I went into her room and whispered "Aubrey, it's snowing!" She flew out of the bed and was out the door before I knew it! Here she is catching a snowfake on her tongue!

Check out the snow in her hair. She just thought this was too funny!

The sun eventually came up and things looked even more beautiful. It really felt like we were in Vermont!

Here are some pics of us playing on the deck. Check out our make shift snow clothes:lmao:

Here are Aubrey and Brendan walking very carefully in the snow. It was so funny.

Of course, we made the obligatory snow man. We named him Hank...

We were outside maybe 10 minutes before the kids had enough. I did too. I don't know how people live in this stuff! As Brendan made his way back to the door, he took a bit of a spill. Being the stand up parents that we are, we had to take a picture. He was only down there a second but it was hilarious. He wouldn't let his hands or feet touch the snow!

Here is a picture of the tree on the side of our house. It looks so pretty with the snow!

Here is the front of our house. I have already printed this one and framed it. It's also the wallpaper on my phone. This will not happen again for years I'm sure.

Emails were circulating all day with everyone's snow pictures. These were my favorite. There of LSU Tiger Stadium and Mike the Tiger enjoying the snow. Too cool...

Speaking of LSU, I got another email this day that made me laugh. Hopefully you will enjoy it too. The caption was "WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES" Too funny!

So that was our snow day. It was great. I promise to be back soon with my next Disney update. I am uploading the pics now. Epcot and MNSSHP are up next!
