Turning 3 - conflicting info from DW & board

You are correct, you will NOT have to pay for a park ticket, buffets or your shared meal with your child! We are doing the same thing--arriving the day before our DD turns 3 to save all that moolah!
I know I will have to pay out of pocket if she wants her own meal, but that's it! This is also how we are able to say in a single room at ASMo since she'll be 2 for the entire trip in WDW's eyes.

Is he allowed to share if we go to a sit down TS, not a buffet? Or will I have to pay OOP for him? I am so excited!!

Since TS charges for items ordered and not per person, you should be able to share your meal with him just like any restaurant.

We just celebrated my DD's 3rd birthday at WDW in July and had NO problems whatsoever. Of course we didn't have ddp but every castmember seemed to be on the same page w/ the "age they are on the first day of the trip" theory. Happy birthday to your son and have fun on your trip!!

Our now 3 year old got his last 'free' trip in a month before his b-day on our trip this March. We did however pay for all his meals once he was eating table food from around a year or so his dining was rarely free since we skip most buffets.

When we returned in July we purchased him and AP and most gate attendants were shocked that he had a ticket nearly all of them would just usher the stroller thru and wonder why we were staning on the other side waiting to send his ticket thru. He's a tall kid too for his age always has been so it took us by surprise. Since he was 2 we figured it would be a matter of time beofre they questioned his age.

I'm not inferring anyone should try to get away without paying for a 3 year old I just think it's funny they are so fickle about a few meals when they are a freshly turned 3 year old.

That was the same with my DS. Until he hit 4 he just didn't care his age, and didn't get why everyone kept asking.
But when he turned 4 it was a different matter. He tells everyone, and I mean everyone, how old he is!

I could have posted this. My ds tells everyone his age. He actually told my father in law the other day that he doesn't have a last name anymore that his name now is just Donovan with a 4. He loves that he is four. It is so funny.

The same thing happened to us in August. The cm saw my husband putting ds ticket in and helping him through and the cm said "oh, he's 3?" and ds son saig "no. I'm 4."

I just got back from a stay at the AKL - DVC Villas. My daughter turned 3 on the 3rd day of our 7 day trip. She told everyone we met she was turning 3, wore her Happy Birthday button with a big 3 on it....not once were we charged for a buffet for her and never questioned for a ticket. She was 2 on the ressie and considered as a 2 yo for the entire trip.
