It was cold here!! The dog is so happy- curled up on the couch in front of the stove.

Have you turned on your heat yet?

Central air still running. If it is warmer than 73 in the house, I can't stand it. Also, I don't open windows....long crazy story LOL

No. No heat. We have this HUGE old heater in our house, which I turn the gas off to in the summer.

We're moving in 3 weeks. To Florida. I'm NOT turning the heat on. no no no.

I prefer to sleep in the cold, so I don't normally turn it on at night.. However, it was pretty darn chilly in here when I woke up this morning, so I've had it off and on all day.. (It was also rainy most of the day up here yesterday and today, so it was damp too..) Before I go to bed, I'll shut it back off again though..

I think "fall" has arrived here in the mountains.. Soon the leaves should start to change colors..

Texan here -- it is currently 92 with a heat index of 101.

Our AC runs most of the year. A lot of days in the winter we'll have the heat on at night and have to turn the AC on during the day.

My brother was living in Texas for a while. He called me one day complaining because they went camping and had to go home in the middle of the night because it was "freezing" out. I asked what "freezing" was and he said it got down to 46F. I looked outside at the 20 inches of snow and the -18F on the thermometer and told him to **** off.

Last night it got down to 54 I think. The windows were closed and in the bedroom it was roasting. Out in the living room in the morning, it was 64. That's perfect sleeping temperature, it it were that in the bedroom.

I'm one of the grizzled vets who will go the ENTIRE winter WITHOUT any heat. Yup, I just grit my teeth and bare it.

No heat for us yet. Love turning the AC off and opening all the windows. Love the cool nights.

My family has not turned on the heat yet. Probably not until some time in October.

I've felt cheated out of spring and fall about the last 5 years. You know, those seasons where you don't run the A/C or heat.
Hit a high of 80 today, back to 90 by weeks end. We normally don't have to turn the heat on until about Thanksgiving.

Yikes!! Supposed to go down to 38 tonight!! A tad early for nighttime temps that low.. However, a few more cold nights like this and the leaves will start to turn color very quickly.. That's the "up" side..

I'll still sleep with the heat off, but it's going to be brutal trying to get out of bed in the morning.. LOL..
