Didn't see the whole show, but from what I did see - WOW!!! I feel bad for that entire family.

You hit the nail on the head. I have a feeling that the kids are not the only ones afraid of dad. I've been told, prioir to all of this, he has quite a temper....and it can be ugly to see....as the Nanny apparently saw!

There is NO way on earth ANY child should get away with that crap! I'm sorry....but maybe Mom needs to learn how to raise her voice. Maybe yelling is not the way to "teach" a child but restraining them physicallyfor 5 minutes is just as bad and obviously has no affect! I know with my own ds(almost 2) there are many times I have to put him in time out ....of course he does NOT want to stay there. I put him in the chair and hold his hands on his lap until he calms down (maybe 15 seconds?)...I tell him very sternly he is not to get out....period. Of course then the little smarty pants tries to "smooze" me and stretches his arms out to me and say's "hug"?? It certainly is not easy to say "no hug now...you were naughty and need a time out...Mommy will hug you when your time out it over" But he stays for his time out and then we hug....done. If you let your child believe they have the upper hand at all times then they will never have an ounce of respect. Of course there are times that you have to let them THINK they have the upper hand to balance things....you respect me, I respect you.

How long has your cousin been friends with this woman?

Any other stories? This family was awful.

The Mom seemed like a doormat to me. She (as nanny said) "needs to get a backbone." I missed the part when the dad flipped out, and that was the part I really wanted to see.

Did they show anything? was he screaming at one of the kids or at the mom?

He took the mom out of the house and flipped out in the front yard at her. They didn't show anything on the camera - which was probably a good thing.

I could not believe how horrible those kids were! I found it hard to believe that anything in that house changed overnight just by putting the kids in a timeout - if you want to call it that - and sticking a timer in front of them. They really seemed to wrap it up way too quickly. The dad might have a temper, but obviously he's the only one who had control of those kids, so he was doing something right! The mom was just a pushover. They have a really beautiful house though! I was in awe of how neat and tidy it looked with how destructive those kids were. Then again, looks could be deceiving!

Geesh...why did the mother allow that behavior? Twilight Zone....dodododododododo!

If my kid SPIT on me, talked back like that, or any of that...DH and I said the kids would have no toys, no electronics (includes tv), and would be sleeping on a mattress without sheets or a pillow.

I felt sorry for the 12yo for having to deal with the out of control brats.

Do I want to know what the kid did when she was locked in the bathroom???

I missed most of the show - but saw where they were standing on a landing and the father 'let the mother' have control - from then on

must have a house cleaner come in
