Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

I'm so glad you liked WCC better this time! That huge Mickey waffle is just epic. Waffles are my favorite, I've never seen a Mickey one that big.

Your March plans sound wonderful! Someday I will stay at AKL.

Love all your holiday photos from AKL and WL - we never made it over to either one to take photos :sad1:

We had dinner at Jiko back in 2011 when we stayed at AKL and did their safari, was a family style so we were brought platters of food for the table of about 20 people, which worked out great some like certain food that other didn't and was a great way to try each dish, we enjoyed it but probably wouldn't got back.

Breakfast at WCC looks yummy, only done dinner there which has always been fine!

Love your plans for March, looks like you will be eating round the world :thumbsup2 sure you will enjoy getting away from the cold and snow!

WCC is one that we keep talking about but we never seem to pull the trigger. Since we're staying at FW in March, maybe we'll just do something last minute, since it seemed like there wasn't much of a crowd when you went for breakfast. That giant Mickey waffle looks AH-mazing!

The March plans look great! I really love the first week of March there and we've always had good luck with crowds and weather (fingers crossed). It looks like our plans don't have us crossing paths, but you never know! I'll definitely give you a shout out if I see you!

Your getaway plans for March look great! See, this is the kind of trip I would enjoy. I love road trips! ::yes:: DH is not so crazy about them. For him, the trip starts at the destination...for me it starts the moment you leave work! :rotfl2:

AKL savannah view!!!! OH, I cannot wait to see your pictures!! And such great restaurant choices! :thumbsup2

Former lurker, just wanting to say hello! Love your TRs. Glad you enjoyed your breakfast at WCC, its one of my favorites. :)

I want to stay at WL one day.....but I haven't been able to do so yet. I hate the price. It does look pretty with the decor.

Your March trip looks to be a nice little getaway. I am going in March too, but at the very end of the month.

I am glad you liked your breakfast but can't believe there were only 2 tables there!!!!!!!!!! That would make for a nice quiet one. I have a funny reaction to WL. If it was here, at home, I would adore it and go there all the time. But because it is there, it is like going somewhere here and while I can appreciate it's beauty I do find myself a bit meh about it. I actually like the hotel side better than the villa side and it was one of our pool view favorite balconies ever. I would love to see the holiday decorations though, it does look stunning.

It's good; what is still higher on your list if I might ask?

Right off the top of my head, I would say a few I haven't tried yet that I really want to get to soon would be

Boma breakfast
Rose and Crown
Biergarten
Chefs de France
Coral Reef
Trails End

But there are plenty of others I really enjoy. At least a few of those go on the list each trip, so getting to new ones can take a while since I don't want to just do all new ones. :thumbsup2

When I go to a Disney restaurant that serves food unique to different cultures, I am one who wants to take that opportunity to try something distinctly authentic. At Raglan Road for example, I always try something that seems to be distinctly Irish and they specialize in, that you really can't get anywhere else. I'm not someone who frequents French restaurants, but when I look at the menu for Chefs de France there is only maybe one item on the entrees that I would definitely not order, and everything else is a possibility, so I have choices depending on what I'm in the mood for when I get there. :)

I don't want to settle for the "safe" burger or steak or a sandwich......something I would "normally" order. When I look at the menu for Jiko there is just nothing that jumps out at me I want to take a risk and try, especially at signature dining prices. When I do decide to try a restaurant with African cuisine, it would probably be Sanaa, where there are a number of items on the menu that at least sound interesting enough to make a selection. ::yes:: Will probably make it to Jiko one day though.

Haven't done breakfast at WCC. Sounds like I need to put that one on my list. I am one who loves WL and look forward to staying there in the future.......hopefully soon! It is definitely a fantastic place to visit when it is all decked out in its Christmas finery. Maybe it's the huge lobby with the all the decorations and that inviting fireplace that makes it feel just right for Christmas. :goodvibes

Your photos definitely hit the highlights, and you got some really good ones. And :woohoo: for a surprise DISmeet!

Your quickie May business/Disney trip sounds like a whirlwind, but lots of fun. A stay at AKL with the animals is always a great plan. Nice that you get to meet up with MEK and Denny.

Driving to Beach Club from Epcot??? Wonder if there is a way to park there in the morning and just head into Epcot through the IG?

I can't believe you just had to work in some Nicki time. :rotfl2:

I'm caught back up Kathy..I think. I loved WL, dh enjoyed cs there more than wcc ahhh that man of mine.

I love your March plans! Akl is on the radar for summer, we loved it! But it's hard to beat bc location! But giraffes and coffee can't be beat. Okay, back to homework before I decide to change LOL

Another great update :thumbsup2

It is funny how you think that WL is like being in WI. I so get the Colorado vibe or Wyoming. I do love the look of it during Christmas with that huge tree

I still have never eaten at the Whispering Canyon. It made it to the short list this past trip though that's the closest it's come! I'm glad to hear you had a nice breakfast, and I'm totally drooling over your Mickey waffle!
The Disney portion of the business trip sound lovely!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

So that's where you get an adult Mickey waffle. I'll have to remember that. Melody said she is done with WCC but I guess I could convince her to go for breakfast someday. Love all the decorations in the lobby!

Oh, are you sure Mark was a willing participant in that totem pole picture? HE doesn't look too happy. :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm still here Kathy :)
Haven't been posting much as work is keeping me too busy!
I'm trying to cast my mind back to December 5th. We were staying at the Lodge so we may well have walked past Whispering Canyon on our way out somewhere whilst you were having breakfast

We LOVE WL at Christmas! Great pictures!

and, as many times as we have stayed there...we've never eaten at WCC - glad you liked it!

Oh yea. I failed to realize you are there every 3 months. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Not quite; crazy that we won't be there in 2015 at all.

Glad it isn't just me. :crazy2:

Nope; a lot of people complaining.

You certainly have a busy week planned for March. I'm sure it will be great especially after this cold winter.

I will be happy if it is only in the 60's.

:lmao: I always say that WL reminds me of Wisconsin! :lmao: I don't really want to stay there either, but DH has expressed some interest, so maybe someday.

Yeah, it just reminds me of the Great Wolf Lodge or whatever it's called near the Dells and holds no appeal (plus our unfortunate run-in with the CM didn't help).

I'm so glad you enjoyed your breakfast! That huge Mickey waffle looks amazing.

It was really, really good.

Jeff mentioned you guys when we had breakfast the following morning at WCC! I'm glad you enjoyed breakfast there. It's a bit out of the way but it's a good option. (At least as far as I'm concerned.)

Did he? Isn't he a sweetie. I really want to go back. And we had a car so it wasn't an issue. We may try to squeeze it in during our September trip.

I'm in the like category for WL, not the love category. There are resorts that I like better and then there are resorts that I love - like AKL, where you'll be in March!

AKL is at the top of my list; OKW second and the Boardwalk is moving up quickly.

Nice plans for March. It's so nice that you can squeeze in some Disney during business travel. I wish I had clients in Orlando...

Do you think I'd go if we didn't? :rotfl2::rotfl2: Seriously, I'm please with a day and a half--last year we only got until about 2:30 on one day.

AWESOME that you get to meet up with MEK again. :)

It's going to be another great year. MEK in March, Mary and the girls in May along with Alan Renfroe (meeting him for the first time), you and Michael in September, as well as Tim and his family in September.

Fun plans for your March visit!

Thanks, Karin.

And even better hooking up with Nicki again, even if it will be only for a short time. :thumbsup2

A short visit with Nicki is better than no visit. :)

I love your plans for March! A little business, a little pleasure and a couple of visits with couples. I love Columbia Harbor House- that should be a really nice lunch with Mary Ellen and Denny!

Thanks, D. It will be the perfect trip. I can't wait until March 1 gets here (they are predicting more snow this weekend).

Wow, I am all caught up again. I did warn you I would get behind, I just never thought it would be this far behind. I'm not going to comment much due to being so far behind. I have been and will continue to pray for your brother. Was nice to hear he is doing better and able to go back to work. Your plans for your March trip sound great. That's it for now. Will try to keep up.

I still have no idea how we missed you in the lobby. We were checking out of the WL at the time you were browsing and getting ready to have breakfast. I was really bummed out when I read your live posts on FB while we were heading to the airport on DME

I wish we would have seen you...I would have liked to have said goodbye. :(

As for not getting out of the house and shoveling... I hear you. I am so tired of the frigid cold and all the snow. Obviously those who believe in global warming do not live anywhere near the Great Lakes States. :)

They are talking another four - six inches for us this weekend. Seriously, I really can't take anymore.

Ahhhhh, finally conceeding to WCC is just the beginning. Granted, it was a breakfast and not a dinner; but it is a start. Before you know it the day will come when you will be doing a TR telling us of your week at the WL and how much you loved it and how in the 95 degree heat of summer it reminded you of a cool brisk fall day. You might even tell us you don't mind that the colors of the resort remind you of your dreaded Packers. :rotfl2:

I am NOT conceding to the WCC for anything BUT breakfast. trust me, we will never be back for dinner. Nope, I gave Mark his one and only chance to stay at WL in September and he turned it down. I'm sticking with AKL/OKW/BWV, thank you.

(ok, maybe you won't. LOL)

NEVER!

As for the comment on men and doctors... I'll go see a doctor when I know I'm close to dying. (And you call that stubborn. LOL) :rotfl2:

You are all alike...I just want to slap all of you.

That's a fact.

I'll give you that...definitely one of the top three.

And that's just one of the many things we don't agree on... :rolleyes1

And never will; but I still like you.

I'm surprised you actually made it there before you had to have it.

I didn't want to run to the Boardwalk Bakery and pay $4.00 for one that was really, really small.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I'm glad to see that you're coming around. :rolleyes1

But ONLY for breakfast.

Always enjoy the sights of WL. Thanks for sharing the pictures. :thumbsup2

You are very welcome.

You're a Disney fan community celebrity! :thumbsup2

Oh, I think there are many more popular than me.

And you're still wrong.

I can forgive/forget a lot of things, but not someone who lies to my face. So unless Mark insists 10 years from now, I doubt it.

Ok, I guess I can give you the benefit of the doubt if that's the case. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It looks like the Wolf Lodge or whatever it is in the Dells.

The plans look great. I'm jealous of Mark's business trips. Mine are always to Midwestern cities in December or January. :headache:

He has to do a trip to Ohio and Indiana...I told him NOT until winter is over. I'm not worrying about him driving in this weather.

The plans for your next trip look great. You're so lucky you can go with Mark on his business trip. Jim goes to Orlando a couple of times a year and I never get to go with him. Granted he is picking up a custody so a little different but honestly the city can send me too. I'll just keep my AP current.

After Mark had a heart attack 11 years ago and we met Nicki several years ago, it just became a necessity that I go with him. ;)

Sorry we won't overlap in May at all but I didn't pick the dates, my friend did. We're going for her birthday and she doesn't care if I do TR's after. That's a good thing anyway. My mom made me stop the one with her a couple of years ago. She is paranoid. She also dislikes Disney and my picture taking. I'm sticking with I'm adopted.

Yes, you are definitely adopted. :lmao::lmao: I hope our paths will cross again at another time.

The resort does look beautiful.. like you said there is a wilderness lodge in the Dells we had stayed... Like you that's a Wisconsin thing...

Yep...just not my thing.

COLD?!?! this is a dang JOKE!!! hope one of these days i can get the feeling back into my fingers!!! Heard the trains were down this morning too.. Did you make it into work OK?

Did you hear about the snow they are predicting? When is it going to end. My train, luckily, has been fine during this whole winter with the exception of a few minutes here and there.

where are you eating in POly??? Please give me construction updates?? it is really looking grim over there...

Kona on our last morning. I will take pictures and let you know what I see.

Sorry I got behind on your TR, Kathy. As you know, things are getting crazy here...which means I may fall behind again!

Congratulations Mark, Julie, Sarah, David and Scotty on the arrival of the newest Harbeson, Andrew!!! We are so happy for all of you. And now you'll really be busy.

Because you're a weirdo. :rotfl2:

Hmmmm...think I'll cancel that baby gift I just ordered.

That makes more sense. I still love it there, but a bad experience can always make us wary.

I was very impressed with breakfast and was very leery after our dinner experience.

It really does look fantastic at Christmas time.

It truly does.

Shenanigans!!! Give me shenanigans!:woohoo:

I don't mind shenanigans; the problem is we were totally ignored in the back room at dinner.

:cool1::woohoo::yay:

I'd go back for that waffle in a heartbeat.

:rotfl: I hope you at least signed an autograph!

On the breakfast check?

Funny how that works, isn't it? The Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club don't hold much appeal for me, because I live on the Atlantic coast and it doesn't feel exotic.

I can certainly understand that.

You might be shocked that I agree with Andy.

Heaven help me.

::yes:: :rotfl2:

You are not helping your newborn here!
