Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

I'll finish responses tomorrow. I hope to get an update done on Friday at work before we go to Northwestern University to watch them wrestle the University of Iowa. A dear friend of our family wrestles for the University of Iowa (he stood up at our son's wedding) and this will be our first chance to see him wrestle live since high school.

Many of you know this from Facebook, but if you could keep our son, Mark, in your good thoughts, we would appreciate it. He is having shoulder surgery on Monday in Iowa City. He has a partial torn rotator cuff and a fully torn labrum. He will be out of work 2 - 6 weeks and need at least six months of rehab. They have told him straight up no wrestling for 5 - 7 months. He is NOT a happy camper. But he can hardly lift his arm above his head and as his wife and I told him, if he wants to be able to hold his future baby and throw a ball to him/her, he needs to have this done now and NOT later.

Kathy, I'm behind one update (I think:)), will go back later tonight to catch up but since this caught my eye, wanted you to know that I'll keep Mark in my thoughts and prayers that both the surgery and recovery goes well.

And I did see that Andy and Des are heading to Ireland this summer for a Garth Brooks concert - how exciting for them! What a fantastic time awaits them.

Be back later. :flower3:

Well, since I love Spaceship Earth, Livin with the Land, and Soarin, I of course loved this update! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you got to go on Spaceship earth.

Sending positive energy for a successful surgery for your son on Monday, and wishes for a quick recovery.

I am so glad you got your ride on Spaceship Earth!

Living with the Land and Soarin' are great follow-ups!

I am interested in hearing how the rest of your day at EPCOT is and intrigued about the reveal of your TR title.

SO glad you got to ride Spaceship earth. I know how upset you were last time!

How did I NOT reply on the kids going to IRELAND!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

THAT IS AMAZING!! SO SO SO JEALOUS!!! Yet really happy they can go!!!

They are going to have a WONDERFUL time!!! Good for them!

I have a little time to get in an update as the boss is at a Board meeting for a bit.
When the boss is away... :rolleyes1

First, Andy was up at 3 a.m. this morning to go online to get tickets to see Garth Brooks. Now why would he be doing that at 3 a.m. and not at a normal hour? Because the concert is in Dublin, Ireland. It is Garth's first tour dates as he makes his return to the concert stage, and Andy LOVES Garth (he flew to Nashville to see him a couple of years ago) and Des loves to travel. Therefore, the two of them are going to Ireland for a week to ten days at the end of July and will see Garth Brooks while they are there. I am so excited for the two of them.
Ok... Love Garth Brooks, and I'd love to visit Ireland sometime. So very jealous of them. Sounds like it will be an amazing trip.

We finished our ride and I decided to head to the new Starbucks in Epcot and get a cappuccino
I'm glad you got to ride Spaceship Earth and make up for the last time, but I'm still surprised that you were able to stop long enough to ride it before you got here.

We had a wonderful ride on Soarin' as always. And we did cheat a little...we doubledipped and got fastpasses with our AP's for later in the day. ;)
Legacy FastPass... RIP. :sad1:

Oh...............and GO

Uh oh. We agree on something. Scary.

My nephew rode his bike all the way across Ireland and the pictures of the scenery were gorgeous so I am sure that the kids will love their trip.

I certainly understand why your first attraction of the day would be Spaceship Earth. I am sure that your daddy was watching and smiling.:thumbsup2

Whew! When I read the title of this last update I was immediately worried that you did not get on Spaceship Earth again. So glad you finally got to ride it! And who doesn't love a ride on LWTL and Soarin'!

So was it wonderful to be able to get Starbucks right in Epcot?

I love Spaceship Earth. I ride it several times a trip. The Living With the Land is another favorite. I may try and figure out something with the hydroponics for next years Science Fair for my granddaughter. Soarin' just not a fan. I can ride roller coasters and Star Tours no issues but put me on Soarin' and I turn a not so lovely shade of green.

I didn't even go near Starbucks but I have to admit some real caffeine could be useful on my next trip. Caffeine means a happy me.

Hope your son's surgery goes well on Monday, although I am sure it will. My last knee surgery there was a young man in the bed next to me getting shoulder surgery. I felt so bad for him. He was invited to the Orioles training camp as a pitcher. Goofing around with some friends he tore up his shoulder and his invite was withdrawn. I wish I had gotten his name I would love to see if he ever made it the following year. Not trying to be a downer but knowing what a baseball fan Mark is I thought of that. I had a lovely conversation with him at the meet on the subject of baseball.

Hope to see pictures if Megan's dance event.

will try to video, since I'm working back stage all day, hope to at least watch her ballet and lyrical....watch for FB update!

BOOOOOOO to Broncos!

Kathy, thanks for the latest update! Just what I needed, pics of all your (and my) favourite rides at Epcot.
Love the pics of you and Mark in your future. :thumbsup2

I am keeping Mark jr. in my thoughts for his surgery on Monday. pixiedust: for a speedy recovery.

How amazing that your kids get to go to Ireland!!! That will be incredible...Garth Brooks fan indeed! :thumbsup2

You know what? While reading this update I realized that at some point while we were at Epcot we went on Spaceship Earth too and I totally forgot to put it in my TR! :confused3 That is what I get for NOT being a notetaker. :faint: So glad you got to go on it this time. :goodvibes

Ah, LWTL... I DID remember to include that one in my TR...go figure! :lmao:

THANK you ALL for the good wishes for Mark's surgery.

However, it looks as if it will be cancelled. The doctor's office and the MRI office FAILED to tell Mark that they were NOT in his network for his insurance. This surgery would end up costing him over $8000...money they do NOT have (and we don't have it to give to them, unfortunately).

It looks like they will start all over from scratch when they find a doctor in his network. He is NOT a happy camper right now. And he is very emotional. He is talking about giving up coaching wrestling and getting a second job with Alisha going back to school in August. Hopefully, in time, he will calm down. I will keep you posted.

Ugh...I was just coming over to wish Mark luck with his surgery and I see your latest update! :grouphug: to Mark. That stinks that no one told him they were out of network but thank goodness he found out ahead of time! Insurance is crazy. Tell him not to make any decisions now while his emotions are so high. He has a good head on his shoulders so I'm sure he already realizes that.

The shoulder still needs to get done. Hopefully he calms down ad finds a good doctor - in network - to take care of it.

Yes it is a long road and everyone I talked to says it is one of the worst surgeries even though I am doing well, if this is the worst then all other should be a breeze- NOT.

But in the grand scheme it is just a speed bump. The pain and suffering now will get worse as he gets older. :rolleyes1 Trust me.

Yikes! :crazy2: I'm glad that he at least caught that before he had the surgery.

I can completely understand how he would be a little depressed right now, but it will be alright. I'm sure he'll find someplace to get it done in network and everything will be fine. He's young enough still to heal! :thumbsup2
