I buy whatever is decently priced and available in a small size; I find that smaller birds are always better than large ones, regardless of brand.

I buy this sometimes too when I want extra stuffing. It’s pretty good.
It’s frozen, we just heat it up in the microwave.

I always make mine from scratch. I’m pretty particular about my stuffing.

I'm a "day before" cold bath thawer. Never had a problem in over 25 years.

I don't pay attention to the brand -- just buy the lowest price and the size I'm looking for. We've never been disappointed.

Last year I tried the cheesecloth method for something different -- it was totally not worth the extra effort.

This year is the first year in 25+ years I'm not cooking. DH and I are taking his aunt to a local hotel's buffet. Costly (and weird not to be shopping and prepping), but I'm in the final 3 weeks of my PhD coursework and don't have the time/energy to deal with cooking on top of it all.

I normally do this especially when we have a roaster chicken. However I think I’m going to brine the turkey this year. We have all of our kids and grandkids coming over. We usually go to my sister in laws house. This will be our first thanksgiving in decades

I would think the food safety concern about a pre-stuffed turkey has to do with properly thawing it prior to baking. Producers can't control if the consumer follows the recommended safe handling procedures. I know if your stuffing contains eggs, you should NEVER stuff it the day before.

yup, they aquired the St. Helena property in '93 and we lost one of our favorite wineries to visit. I haven't been back home since they opened the newer additional Napa campus at the old Copia site.

Food safety reasons was my number one thought and a quick google search shows that. "raw, pre-stuffed poultry for safety reasons...to prevent potential bacterial growth from the raw stuffing mixing with the raw turkey meat. The risk is that the stuffing can trap bacteria that won't be killed during the cooking process, especially if the turkey is cooked improperly."

It's up to each country to have their own food safety reasons, another item that comes to mind is authentic haggis.

I bought 4 Jennie O turkey breasts for the freezer at Hannaford. They were .99 lb! We roasted one several weeks ago and it was amazing. I finally tried Reynolds Kitchens Oven Bags (turkey size) which you can find in the plastic wrap and foil departments for $2 (2). I purposely overcooked the turkey by about an hour and it was moist and delicious. The best part is the bag keeps the oven CLEAN! The trick is to sprinkle a bit of flour into the bag before you put the turkey in which prevents it from sticking. I am now a believer.

Hanny's!!! I buy frozen turkey breasts (yes, JennieO) when they are on sale and throw them in the freezer. Nobody here particularly loves roast turkey dinner**, but they are all on-board when I make "Thanksgiving Leftover Sandwiches" for supper!

**This means we have smoked turkey from Sam's for Thanksgiving dinner, which people love. It kills me to pay $3+ per pound when I can get "whatever turkey at Hanny's for 49cents a pound, but at least it'll be eaten. Also, smoked turkey isn't as expensive as duckling, which we had two years for Thanksgiving. Paying $8 a pound instead of 49cents almost killed this frugal old Yankee, lemme tell ya!

Also, not a fan of naturally raised Farmer's Market turkeys. They remind me of the turkeys of my childhood... dry, dry, dry.
