Turkey Week Trip Report w/photos and Valet Parking Update.

Great post and pictures. We went a little over a month ago and I really miss it. We do a lot of cooking when we are there, I can imagine getting a T-Day dinner together, I bet it was fun.

A few questions - what were the temps? I know you said it was not crazy, but how were the wait times on the rides?

We are going next October (already made ressies), but thinking about something like this in the future to see WDW all dressed up for Christmas.

Great report and your photos are stunning! VWL is so magical at the holidays.

It's the San Angel Restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion at the World Showcae in Epcot - The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is very good. Don't forget to try the tequila and the really nice 5 minute boat ride attraction called "El Rio del Tiempo" (The River of Time) located inside the pavilion. Best wishes,
David

Did someone say Tequila? Should I run or give the kids to Grandma?:scared1: The setting looks great and I will definitely put it on my to do list. Thanks!

We were there same time - and, like you, ate at WC on the way out on our last day. (with no ADR). Unlike you - we found the crushing crowd in the Studios on Sunday. But, totally agree - no crowd in Epcot on Monday. Crushing crowd in MK on Monday night. NO crowd in MK on Wednesday night. Weird.

Wonderful photos! I wonder if those purple/blue trees were in front of Epcot last year - I didn't see them, but we always came in through the International Gateway entrance - our whole 13 day trip! They are beautiful, but all your photos are great!

Great pictures. I just told my husband my dream is to cook Thanksgiving Dinner in a 2 bedroom villa one day. I think it would be great. We will be at VWL on Jan 2, what room location did you have, any view, what floor. Thanks.

You are a great photographer!

We didn't think the Thanksgiving crowds were bad when we were there 2 years ago either. I think it's a GREAT time to visit WDW. I'm trying to convince my family to do it again next year.

Thanks for the trip report and the lovely pictures. Some would make great Christmas Cards!

I'm using a "Fujifilm FinePix S700" point and shoot vacation camera I purchased 4 years ago for under $200. The trick to many of these photos was the use of an simple portable tripod costing about $20. Even the smallest little tripod will greatly extend the capabilities of any digital camera - any tripod will dramatically improve the range of photos you can capture. And by the way, I earn my living as a full-time advertising photographer.

jmho, I don't think your wonderful photos have much to do with camera you are using....you've been blessed with a gift for seeing exactly what makes for amazing shots ::yes::

Hope that you'll share more of your trip photos here :goodvibes

I'm happy to hear that the crowds weren't horrendous. I'd like to do a Thanksgiving week trip in a couple of years and I was a bit nervous about that. Next year we will be doing a Christmas trip in early December. After that, my son will be in grammer school and we will be stuck to the school calendar.

:thumbsup2

Absolutely. Aren't they just exquisite?

OT. My comment about the camera was strictly tongue and cheek - teasing him. :goodvibes I too hope that he shares more shots.

First, I'd like to thank the people who responded to my photos with such generous compliments - I sincerely appreciated every one of them - you made me smile often and I am very grateful to my DISboard friends.

Is the tripod one of those gorilla pod thingees?
I was using a traditional style mini tripod which I've had for years, but the gorilla pods are excellent also - like mini-tripods, they are very portable, quick and easy to use, inexpensive and dramatically enhance your results.

In additional to night time shots, tripods are great for:
- any dimly lit situations including dusk and interiors
- any close up photos
- action photos
- any zoom or telephoto photos also benefit greatly from the use of a tripod.
Once you see the results, your tripod will become indispensable - good luck!

October and April happens to be my favorite months to visit due to the short lines, low humidity, little rain and fantastic temperatures in the 80's - you're going to have a terrific time in October.

As far as this past Thanksgiving week, it hit a high of 82 on both Sunday and Monday, 80 on Tuesday and then it rained like crazy most of Wednesday but Thanksgiving was a magnificent, bright sunny day with a high of 72.
As for the lines, it was similar to any busy summer weekend - no better and no worse - just the weather was much more accommodating and comfortable!

Best wishes,
David

I always love seeing pictures. They were great. Thanks so much for sharing. We leave TOMORROW and I can't wait!!!

Your Thanksgiving sounded wonderful! Someday DH and I hope to spend the Holidays in WDW. Thanks for sharing your memories and great pictures!!! :thumbsup2
