I was wondering what everyone's opinion of turkey legs was. I personally find them tasty, but too fatty. anyone else?

They are one of the number one things I have to have when im down at the world... though for some reason ill only buy one in frontierland to me it just doesnt seem right to me to get one anywhere else...maybe im just nuts :earboy2:

Love em Love em Love em! Only problem is they are really salty!have to make sure i ahve a drink with them!

I've never had one. But then I am grossed out by eating meat off bones and therefore don't do it. Watching the people gnaw on those turkey legs, just really grosses me out too! Yuck!

I am a hater of eating meat on the bone, but I do like these. Although I HATE the hard pokey things near the middle.

They are fabulous - and big enough that my DH and DS and I all shared one! And that red color doesn't mean that they aren't cooked - just that they are smoked like a ham.

Ah....now I want one.

On one of our visits we decided to try the turkey legs since the TV show made them seem so yummy.

We were all disappinted. To us they tasted like ham. Tough and stringy. If I had wanted ham we wouldn't have ordered a turkey leg.

So for us we don't understand why everyone loves the turkey legs.

I have at least one every trip. It did gross my DH out one time when I got one at AK. He said it was just WRONG to walk around looking at animals while eating "that thing".

I love them, but they are so messy!! Is there really that much fat in them? FYI the ones at Universal Studios aren't quite as drippy and messy (in case anyone cares to know).

yeah, i like them not so much because of how they taste, which sounds odd, but because i look forward to them. im all "yay im going to wdw soon and i get to eat a turkey leg" plus the food channel show really gets me pumped up for some turkey legs. :mickeybar :drinking1

On the Food Network, they said that they inject saline into them to plump them up. That would explain your thirst! :earseek:

I have never had one. But they look disgusting. :crazy2:

I never had a desire to walk around the park with a big hunk of meat on the bone.

Maybe it turns my stomach because so many people seem to have no manners when eating them. I have seen more people chomping on them with mouths fully open, meat hanging out of their mouths, meat stuck to their faces & clothes. YUCK.

I am not saying everyone who eats one, eats them that way, but so many do.

I just cant walk around with a hunk of meat.

You all don't like these? R U serious? They are delicious! But I will admit that they can look bad once you get in the middle.

I love them!!! They are just too yummy. Sometimes they can be a bit salty but sometimes that's just what you need.

I have never tried one, but I always say I will someday. :D

I have turkey legs on my must try snack list for our April trip. I also want to try the school bread in Norway and a Kaki Gori.

Isn't that the wierdest thing? They taste EXACTLY like HAM to us as well! Incidentally, we ordered some turkey breast from the Honeybaked Ham company during the Holiday season, and it too...tasted JUST LIKE HAM!!

I had one on my trip in May and did not like it. To fatty and greasy. However, I tried one again at a Festival I went to in October and it was much better. Not so big and plump and it was smoked on an outdoor grill. Very good! But I will not have one at Disney World again. :guilty:

Yep -- never tried one. The smell of the things and the sight of them just turns my stomach. However, I've been told they are actually quite good. YMMV.
