Turkey Legs... What do you think?

Is Turkeygate the customer Albort helped and accused of selling pork to or people slipping on those giant turkeys? I think it should be about the guy that looked hilariously like Fred Flintstone when he was arguing with someone waving a leg around in between bites of a turkey leg.

:rotfl:

NY Times headline next week: TURKEYGATE ROCKS THE NATION!

Were going to need Albort's assistance here but aside from him mentioning the accusational guest it was my impression he had heard from a "better" source that there could be pork in the so called Turkey Legs. maybe I just read into it and it's not that compelling. Albort? Conspiracy to use pork or just a crazy guest?

Maybe we can meet with a guy wearing a trenchcoat in the shadows of a parking structure to get to the bottom of this mystery...

The turkey legs are awkward to eat and super greasy. I tried one once and that was enough for me to never want another one. :scared:

Hey Albort... it sounds like someone should get a poll running to see who like or hates the turkey legs the most. Would make for some interesting reading!:rolleyes1

unfortunately, id like to point out that the DCA single cart sold around 800 turkey legs on New years eve.

Im assuming Disneyland's 3 carts probably sold at least 1600 each by themselves. If you say they are unpopular, clearly guest are buying turkey legs for fun and throwing them away just for the hell of it. ;) ;)

hahahahahahahahahahaha.

I must be dense, because I can't find the places that sell them while I'm there in the parks. I see people with them occassionally, but it's like magic, because where ever they bought them is no where in sight. Not that I would buy one, mind you. I get enough turkey at Thanksgiving. Especially with the size of those dang things, they must have enough tryptophan (sleepy chemical) to make you want a nap way earlier than the parks close, lol. Now, that's only if they are true turkey meat (in keeping with the turkeygate theory.) ;)

I thought it was gross the first time we got one......last trip DS11 asked for one and it smelled so good I had to taste it, it was great! I guess it just depends on if you get an off one every now and then. Maybe the first one was fed pig food not turkey food.:confused3

I guess you could say DL is getting a leg up on their TL sales!:woohoo:

See... Turkeygate is gaining momentum.:3dglasses popcorn::

Albort, I hear the Turkish Muslims take "double" offense at the prospect of Turkeygate for obvious reasons. j/k:laughing:

I've never had a turkey leg at the parks. They look gross. But smell yummy!! I just hate when someone is eating one in line. Nasty.

Oh...and Doombugger...I thought your little off-color joke earlier was funny. :rotfl:

hilarious thread! I've seen these turkey legs in the hands of others, but I've never been able to find those carts with all the legs. My DH and I wanted to try one as we've heard so much about them.

Can anyone tell me what they actually taste like? Is it a BBQ sauce that they've been marinated in? Is it fried, and that's why they're so greasy? WHAT'S WITH THESE LEGS?????

hahahahaha, im just the opposite. I hate the smell but it looks good. Looks like a mutated chicken leg... :)

I've always thought about trying them everytime we went to DL. They smelled sooooo good but never did. Well... I finally did, took the first bite and almost threw up!!! The nastiest thing I have ever tasted!!! Just my opinion!!! I would say if you have not tried it, you should! You might like it!

Off the top of my head... There's a cart near Walt and Mickey, in front of the castle. Also, one in Frontierland, outside the Golden Horseshoe. Erm.. One in Fantasyland that I can't place in my head. I don't think I remember seeing a cart in DCA...

And for those that haven't seen what one looks like, I found a picture of my friend about to eat one. It was a bit frozen, so we had to wait.

My dad is a HUGE fan of those! Actually he mentioned it again yesterday when we were planning our June trip. I was like where do you wanna eat? Dads reply was "I just want one of those turkey legs"

Those things are HUGE! It took him over a half hour to get well into his and thats a big hungry man. To me it just looks gross, but apparently they are just delicious.

I thought they tasted too "wild" in flavor. They didn't taste like turkey at all to me. I have been told they are actually another bird that is eaten as well.... anyway I threw mine away after only a few bites....I don't think even a sauce could have covered the "meaty" taste...yeah I know its meat....but yuk!

I always thought they looked disgusting..but on our last trip my DD decided to try one. We found ourselves a table and pulled the meat from the bone and I was pleasantly surprised. It is smoked turkey so it tastes more like ham. I thought it was an excellent source of protein to start the day with. (No flames..we're late sleepers so I'm talking 11:30 am ;) )

We had it a few times throughout the trip and DD got bolder in her consumption:
