About a year ago I saw a special on The Food Network about Disney food. They showed those huge turkey legs. They looked amazing! But I have sense been told that a person either loves them or hates them. So which are you? :confused3

Can't stand the smell, can't stand the look and can't stand the taste. Both kids love them. Go figure. The only good thing about them is that I know I'm at WDW when I can smell them. LOL

I love them! I've been eating them every time I go to the Magic Kingdom since I was a little kid. It's my official Disney food! When I have a turkey leg I feel like I'm really on vacation.

I just could never get into them but DH2B and my brother loves them!

DH and I loved them when we got them at MK and AK, but we got one at MGM while we were waiting to get in to the Beauty and the Beast show, and we didn't love it.
It Probably had to do with the fact that we were perched on a little wall in the hot sun eating a VERY hot turkey leg and had no where to set it down.
;)
We try and share one each trip. But we learned our lesson. We only get them if we can sit, at a table with lots of Napkins.
:goodvibes

There is something primeval about gnawing on a turkey leg.

My whole family hates them. We ordered two about 4 years ago for our family of 4 to share. We all thought they were terrible... and we are not really fussy eaters. My husband who usually never lets food go to waste couldn't even finish it! As with everything, it is a matter of taste....I know some people love them.

I was watching someone near us eat those legs and it was the messiest thing I have ever seen......My friend finally got one when we all went a year ago and she was a mess.....and she said .....I WANTED THIS??????? Meaning her of course....her husband and little one didnt want to share in it either.....i would need more then a napkin though......water and wet naps would be in order..

BUT

I do love the smell of it......smells like a ham dinner

Can't stand to even look at them. My mind jumps straight to "Donner" !

I've always wanted to try a turkey leg, looks so yummy and smells wonderful. I never did try it in Disneyland, but my daughter had a fundraiser in school where they sold those frozen turkey legs. They advertised it as the same ones sold in Disneyland. YUCK! I followed the cooking instructions but it was horrible. Extremely salty and tough. I guess it didn't have that sprinkling of magic you get at DL.

I think that was another reason why I didn't like them. It is called a turkey leg, but it smells and tastes like ham.

I got one once and cut it up on a salad. I love the dark meat on turkey but I wasn't thrilled with the smoked turkey. I usually like it on a sandwich but anyway there was enough meat on it for 3 salads with some left over. We were traveling on a budget that trip.

When I was younger that was all I wanted when we were at disney. Now as an adult, I was there in April, had one in MGM and really could have done without it. It was ok but not like i remember them being.

During our 2000 trip, DH was just dying to get a turkey leg - I mean he just would not stop talking about it. I thought they looked gross from the start. So he finally gets one at MK, bites into it, and promptly declares it as the most disgusting thing he's ever had. :scared1: He's never gotten one again.

Sorry voted hated them, just can't seem to stomach them. They look alright, but then to me they taste like and feel like fatey grissly(sp) ham. The kids seem to like them alright, if we're in MGM we get them and I'll just get a footlong hotdog!;)
