I haven't bought anything yet, but noticed this week at my Costco that fresh Butterball turkeys were .99¢/lb. This week I have seen several ads but since I'm not shopping until Monday or so, I didn't really pay attention.

Best price I've seen around here (chicago burbs) is .97 cents a pound for Butterball, that's at Super Target, no minimum purchase. I had a $3 off coupon when I also bought 4 boxes of Stovetop (.89 each). So I either paid $15 for a 15 pound bird and got 4 boxes of stuffing for almost free (that I needed anyway), or paid .80 a pound for a bird, take your pick.

The turkey isn't even for us, DH is deep frying it today and taking it in to his work crew tonight (he works 3rd shift). I'm making up the stuffing to go with it.

I won't know what my effective price per pound will be until I buy it later today but I will basically be getting the first 14.5 lbs for free.

Shady Brook Turkey is $0.69/lb.
I have a coupon for $10 off any turkey if I buy 12 Kraft Items. I need some salad dressing (2 for $4) and cream cheese (2 for $3 - I will be buying 10) - so the $19 in Kraft items that I need to buy anyway will save me $s on the turkey.

That's actually a real good price on a Butterball.

Ours is 1.09 frozen, 1.59 Fresh. It's a 10 cents a pound increase from last year.
The store brand is .59 frozen, .99 Fresh. This is the same price as last year.

I paid .75 a pound for my 20 pound turkey. That price was with an additional $25 spent in the store. I'm happy with that price. I might grab a smaller 10 pounder when I go today to get groceries.

My grocery store is the same as the OP's (.58 per pound with $25 purchase, limit 1).

Still, I think I did okay. I'm not buying for myself, but instead am making "Thanksgiving Baskets" for 3 families in need. I managed to get all the ingredients for mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, turkey, and cranberry sauce for 3 families of 6-8 people for about $90.

The store was generous in that they allowed me to get 3 turkeys at sale price as long as we broke it up into 3 separate orders. 18-24 people fed Thanksgiving dinner for $90 is pretty good, I think.

I was in Stop and Shop this morning.

Shady Brook frozen turkeys were $0.58 per pound with a $25 purchase. They were marked $1.79 a pound.

Since we're going to my sister's for Thankgving, I have my Christmas turkey in the freezer

I feel pretty good about our prices in SC. Publix has frozen turkey (10-24 lbs.) at .59 per lb, with a limit of 5. If you buy more, they are .99 per lb.

Fresh turkey is 1.59 per lb. (10-24 lbs.)

There are many items with BOGO pricing.

The best deal I've seen is $.49 per pound. Butterballs routinely cost over $1 a pound no matter where I check.

My 22 pound turkey was free with $150 purchase at Carrs. I bought stuff I'd use that was on sale, and stocked up a bit. Except for odds and ends, I think I'm set grocerywise till we leave for Christmas vacation (since I'll have some produce delivered).

Around here the Shoprite has you spend $300 in about a 5 week period and you get a choice of certain things..

However, Wegmans has no promotions, Genaurdi's and Acme no promotions, Bottom Dollar/Aldi's no promotions so really it is only one store that has the free promotions. To my knowledge, Pathmark has no promotions.

I think Giant has a promotion but they are in PA, and I'm thinking of the Southern NJ stores.

For me, I wound up getting a Shoprite 17 pound turkey (regularly $23.00) for free.

This. Since we typically spend 125-150 a week on groceries my husband got his own price plus card. We got a free turkey and a free ham.
Next week they have rib eye roast on sale for $6.99/lb but a local supermarket has them on sale for 5.99/lb. I plan on picking up a few for the freezer. We like roast beef for Christmas.

Here in Maryland I bought a Shady Brook Farms turkey for .59 lb. No Minimum purchase needed. Also used a coupon that gave 200 gas points when you buy a turkey.

So we got an 11 pound turkey for $6.25, and plus saved .20 cents per gallon on gas...so we got a good deal!

This was at Giant by the way...

I feel bad for people who live in areas that aren't offering great deals on turkeys.... This can be a major expense for hosting Thanksgiving dinner.

Just picked up a 17lb Turkey at meijer for $5.33. Had to have an additional $25 purchase, which isn't tough since we shop there anyway.

I also picked up a small ham since we have a mail in rebate for $10 back for a $10.01 meat purchase, I paid $10.13 for both items, so it will be .13 out of pocket plus the cost of a stamp.

I just picked up a turkey at HEB for 19 cents a pound - had a $20 min purchase but we were shopping anyways. Cheapest I've found around here!

Don't mean to shock anyone but, here in Northern Alaska, a frozen turkey goes for $2.79 a pound on sale. Once the freight gets tacked on the price goes way up. Hubby brought me one from Anchorage on one of his last trips as carryon! I know sounds crazy but that's life up here. I think he paid 1.59 a pound for it. I have carried on cheese, ham, asparagus, hotdogs, etc... Yep, gotta be resourceful here.

It's still .58/lb for turkey here with a $25.00 purchase. We got two because we fry them and there are usually never any leftovers if we make just one. Our store used to run the promotion where you earn a turkey based on the dollar amount you spend.
