Turkey Day Gang 2009

My boys will be wearing suits for formal night -- only because we had to buy them suits for Joey's Bar Mitzvah in August. I want my money's worth! :lmao:

Karen -- Joey is also enjoying ordering off adult menus and he is anxiously waiting for lots of choices.

I think Andrew's idea for Palo's is wonderful.

Jodie -- the buy 4 get 3 free deal was just announced. Disney must really be hurting -- it's been one deal after another to go to WDW. From the prices of cruises though, they don't seem to be hurting there.

Forgot to add -- I have heard from many people how addicting cruises can be and I surely hope they're right. Perhaps, we'll finally find a vacation that DH won't complain about.

My dear dear FIL is a rabid Ole Miss fan. He is sacrificing his Rebel Club seats for the LSU game on sailing day. He has a great attitude about it right now, but people with addictions don't know how addicted they are until they need to withdraw, ha. Any idea if there might be a way for him to watch the game onboard?

Vieven

I guess I had better avoid your FIL or keep him away from our door. I graduated from Mississippi State, and my DH's family has ties with LSU.

Well some of the kids like the formal dining room more than others...Mason prefers to be with the kids rather than sitting thru a 2 hour meal..

Sherrie, I sent you back a pm

Chuck:cool1:

And Rachel and Andrew are very mature for their respective ages...

Chuck:cool1:

The kids can order from the adult menu if they choose to...

And yes, Andrew (even if he reads this) can likely forget about Palo..his only real benefit is that due to his size, you might be able to sneak him in there at 14

Chuck

I would suggest early March at WDW to avoid the massive crowds. It is still pleasant weather wise here and great swimming weather.

I was at the resorts last weekend and they were not hurting too bad there. Parks have been hit or miss. Some weeks crowded some not.

I just felt bad for the people who were here for the Disney run last Saturday. They still had it, but it poured rain so I am sure they were all soaked and they end in a park with a night of rides, but they closed most things because of weather....for sure.

It rained most of Sunday afternoon as well so I felt bad for those trying to make a weekend out of it.

addicting? naaahh...this is only the 6th year in a row we have done this cruise (+ 4 others in between)...

Chuck:cool1:

OK - i have all the required info for the dinner link from all except for Leslie traveling alone who I do not think I have seen a recent post - the original list was on page 120 and the copy was on 163, so she would have been somewhere in the 100 and teens I would think...if anyone knows her screen name, please PM her...thnx

You mean if the chef's don't run away at the thought of trying to fill him up! :rotfl2:

Hey Jodie,

They announced a new deal...now through March 27, buy 4 nights at a Mod or Deluxe and get 7 (so you get 3 free nights/days); buy 5 at a Value and get 7 (getting 2 free).

We're thinking about the end of March....but we may just take another cruise!

Karen

By the way, Andrew was wondering if anyone here ever thought they'd do a "sampler" at Palo one afternoon for kids with sophisticated tastes or if anyone could "recommend" it to DCL :rolleyes1! I didn't have the heart to tell him to dream on!

Karen

Tee, hee, I've written this suggestion on comment cards but do not believe that DCL will ever consider it since the surcharge only really covers the extra cost of the food and they really hope that you will buy an adult beverage as part of your Palo experience so allowing kids wouldn't be a money-maker for them. However, DD would really like to go - I'm in the restaurant business so she has been exposed to fine food her entire life and has very expensive tastes. Pity her boyfriends to come.

Michelle, my fiancee (DW when we cruise) and I are in 2074. Mind you I am a little confused :confused3since we booked an Alaskan cruise for 2011. So I may be getting that cabin mixed up with this one. If it is different, I will let you know!!!:)

Chuck, I understand about wearing pants instead of shorts. I am a native Floridian. My idea of getting dressed is shorts, a t-shirt and flip-flops. However, when it comes to formal night on the ship...tuxedo and nothing else will do for me.

For those who have seen my FE, a little explanation. The reason there are 7 pockets and only 2 of us, each pocket is for each day of the cruise except for the last day, which is disembarkation day. The second day, which is when formal night is, we have off to the side of that pocket some black bowties.

For those who were talking about MSU, Ole Miss and LSU...I live in Gainesville. Yes, I am a Gator fan, but I also support all the SEC teams. We happen to be getting married on the day the Gators head to play MSU. Our service will be over in time to watch the game!!!:woohoo:

Well you can do like we do and get a small sampling of things (brunch) and take it back to your room for Her:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Rachel loves the pizza:cool1:

Michelle, we are indeed in 2074. I just checked the reservation. I think I have created a monster:scared1:(in a good way) with her booking another cruise before we have even taken our first together.

Only around 200 more posts to get to 3000!!!!:cool1:

Charlie,
I will try to update that list tonight. I am busy getting ready for a Daisy Scout meeting. Nut and Candy Orders are due so I am trying to get that all together now.

Hi everyone! Quick question - does it look like the Magic and Wonder will both be at Castaway Cay on November 27th? If so, it seems it would be very crowded! Thanks in advance for your help. I am getting into vacation mode now!
