For Thanksgiving 2008 the group ordered both bracelets and t shirts. That way there's a choice--or people can order both!! It worked out very well!!

DD has her headphones on and totally ignoring me tonite.

I do not wear anything on my wrists - so I would prob go with the Tshirt so as to be able to wear it over and over and over and over and OVER again

I just happened by the travel agency today and they had the new 2009-2010 Disney crusie brochure out. I have never seen it so I asked if I could have one and they gave it to me. Now I can't put it down. How pathetic is that? I am so excited! Tell me I am not alone...

Still working on travel plans. Holding out for Southwest to open Nov dates (prob in May) as they are the only direct flights to MCO from Norfolk. If I found a great deal elsewhere I'd grab it, but that hasn't happened....yet.

Air Tran flies direct out of Newport News. I guess that would be a little further for you, but I've found some excellent rates from there. This past Thanksgiving, we flew for $134 per person (round trip including taxes) direct from Newport News to MCO. Their rates are usually out before Southwest's. I'm thinking they should be available about 6 months out. Good luck!

DH accomplished a personal best this weekend at the Shamrock Half in Va Beach -- just under 2 hours. SOOOO proud of him as he worked hard to break the 2hr mark and shave a good 10 mins off his time.

Funny - my best half was also at Shamrock a couple years ago - 1:59:26! I was ecstatic!!!!!! Best race of my life!

If you put your room # on the FE gifts now the Resse fairy won't give you a last minute upgrade. How about just your name? That has worked well for us in the past.

On the bracelet idea.....On our December '06 cruise we had about 100 dissers in the group. We had T-shirts and that was great on embarkation day but we also had bracelets that many of us wore all week. It made it really easy to find each other on board and "meet" people we didn't realize we already knew.

Ahhh an upgrade -hhhmm- there are three rooms linked to mine - so I doubt they will visit me and mine.

I am waiting to hear if the ASL interps will be back with us. Three years ago we had Marvin and Tara for my sister and brother in law - they were AMAZING. I just read a post where a family said they were just off the Magic and had them - YAHOOOOO I sent them a email begging for them to be with us - gosh I really want the pixie dust for that one!!! They connected so well with our famililes - they were part of us!!!

I just ordered a FE from Ebay ( that site that is mentioned on our Blog )
so I will customize if for sure. Although I think this may be our last cruise I am always hoping for another. DH and I are heading to Hawaii in 2012 so that will be our focus after this cruise. DD starts college in 2010 I don't know how I will handle that at ALL!!!

ok - I am off to Walmart to get some TWILIGHT stuff for DD. Sadly I watched the video this weekend and am now hooked
I will now start reading all 4 books and DD just informed me that the next movie will be out on 11/20 - gotta find a theater in Orlando so I can watch it -

alwayslisad - I love twilight too! I read all four books over the past month and just had to see the movie. I think the books are better than the movie though. Didn't much care for the character that played Jacob. He looked too wierd to me. If the second movie comes out in November, my DD and I will more than likely be in line behind you at the theater!

I don't consider myself a "helicopter mom" but I am pretty conservative about what Andrew can and can't do. In all honesty, if you lay down a few practical rules (i.e., no running on the ship; no abusing the elevators...i.e., don't punch every number and be a nuisance; don't go in anyone's cabin without mom or dad's permission; don't go in a restricted area; etc...), after a day or so, you'll feel better about things. Last year I had the same worry and after a the first day, I was fine with Andrew having the run of the ship! What I learned was that, generally speaking, I could find him either a) in the arcade; b) in the theater; c) at one of the kids activities; or d) at the pool.

We do keep a small white board in our cabin and leave each other notes...we do require him when he leaves the club to go back to the cabin, write down the time and tell us where he is going...and/or...see where we are (based on our note) and come find us. It's a big ship...but it's not that big. I think it also helps since we feel comfortable with the Turkey's who traveled last time and our kids got to know one another and hung out together quite a bit.

Andrew will be 11 1/2 (can't forget that 1/2) when we cruise this time (though he looks older) and he'll have run of the ship. If I find out he abuses this priviledge...well...let's just say he'll be on a leash (and yes, I do mean a leash!) after that!

Thank you for the great white board idea! DD will be 10 and she is very responsible and a rule follower. I trust her to have run of the ship but hadn't figured out how I would keep track of her. I love the white board!!! We will be using one for sure!

As far as t-shirts and bracelets... I would be interested in both. I like the idea of having something to wear all week (the bracelets). And if we go with t-shirts, can we look into a feminine cut for the gals that are interested? Nothing makes me look more like the 8th Dwarf know as Dumpy than a boxy man's t-shirt!

Wow, 86 pages! Let me introduce my family: DH (Ted), me (Pam), and DD and DS who will be 13. This will be our first 7 day cruise. We did a 4 day a few years ago and we loved it. We will be in a CAT 9.

I am a little overwhelmed to think I may have to read through 86 pages to get up to speed. Is there a list of Disers for this cruise? Are there little get togethers? We can't wait for this trip. Right now, we are trying to decide on which excursions to do. I can't swim so some of the snorkeling excursions are out for me at least. Well, I better start reading!

I have run 1, 13.1...but three 26.2's. I have no idea what kind of running shape I'll be in in November, but I could probably be persuaded to do a few laps if anyone is interested. Perhaps we could inaugurate a Turkey Day Half at Sea...! I also have heard they sometimes have a 5k on Castaway Cay.

I will try to find out where we ordered the bracelets from!!
