Turkey Day Gang 2009

Your welcome Patsy. If you need the stateroom number, I can find and add that.

Charlie

I don't NEED the stateroom number. That's only if you want to give it out. By the time the cruise gets here, upgrades are handed out, and last minute folks add on the thread it will be impossible to keep up with everybodys.

Gooood evening! I added ImaPrincess tonight. Thanks for the info.

We are almost up to 20 rooms!

DD saw the Orthopeidest, nothing is permanetly damaged but she will be in a full leg brace for 10 days then a knee brace for a couple of weeks longer.

Does anybody have a spreadsheet of folks staying at the Hyatt/MCO and planning a meet? Would you like me to add it to the blog?

What a doufus I am. I'll just start another entry for arrival plans this evening. Will that be OK? Maybe this time I can get comments to show up properly.

Also, I entered another member today who took "Anonymous" very seriously. Would you like to add your user name? I'm still getting to know everybody. And, do you want to be on the tally as a "Disney Mom" or a "Beat Street Single"? Then again you might be a "Disney Dad", I'm just making an educated guess.popcorn::

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

That would be ME - doofus - should not post at 5 am ---

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

DD is Renee - she is 17

Dnephew #1 is Tyler - he is 20 ( I think )
Dnephew #2 is Dalton - he is 17 ( I know ) Dalton has Alopecia Universalis - on our 2006 cruise he was just diagnosed and did not enjoy himself as a lot of people stared at him. When we were leaving that last day he turned to me and said
"auntie when I get used to people staring can we do another cruise?"
OF COURSE we will and we are!!!

I will share with you all a part of an article he wrote for his newspaper he wrote this in 2008:

As time went on, mine and others’ understanding for my condition became more obvious. In school and in public, I no longer let weird glares get to me because I knew that at one time I was guilty of being one of those confused spectators. I have learned to accept different reasons as to why this happened to me rather than one of the other 99,999 people. I feel that this disease made me realize the people that I once passed judgment on were in the same insecure position I was.
I have become thankful to have received such a wake up call so early on in my life because it has taught me to open my eyes and accept people for who they are rather than what they look like. Alopecia Universalis has changed my life in the most positive way I could have ever wished for by making me a stronger and more stable person.

Do you all use an OFFICIAL Fish Extender? I am looking on Ebay and just don't see anything that grabs me...I saw in some posts that people just use bags and such - I have a disney bag that I can use - would that be ok?

Hey y'all, I added a post on the blog to add pre cruise plans. Add your info to comments and I'll tally the totals at the top.

Mickeyhugger and Alwayslisad are already listed

Any one that is coming in the night before the cruise and are staying at the Hyatt MCO I am planning on a pre cruise meet in the evening in the hotel bar/common area. The current web rate for the Hyatt is around $220 plus tax...However you can buy in advance a Hyatt "stay certificate" for $140 that includes tax. The stay certs are limited so if you think that you want to stay at the Hyatt buy now. Also let Mommyminnie know and she will add you to the blog list:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 If any one has any questions about the stay certs send me a pm.

Good morning all ~

I am up researching day trips for our WEEK BEFORE THE CRUISE VACATION and came across two things. Wanted opinions and comments from my gang...

We want to go to Kennedy Space Center - found tickets for $36ish -- ?? good

Seaworld - ? is it worth it ? $65ish per person - I dont do rides - dh and dd may not either - so would that be worth it for the attrations?

I am trying to find a ONE Day pass for Animal Kingdom - any ideas?

I figure we arrive on Sunday the 15th - so that day is a wash
Monday - we will do something (one of the three excursions)
Tuesday - same ( one of the three excursions )
Wednesday - Ditto (if it is worth it )
THursday - day at condo w/ family over
Friday - depart condo and go to Hyatt to meet up with Sis and her family and the Dis group ( I Hope!! )

so if you had three days to explore - would you do Seaworld/Nasa and AK ???

Lisa--

I took the boys to Sea World in July 2007 when we were in Orlando visiting family and the 3 of us loved it. I am not a ride person and do not do them. We had a lot of fun and look forward going back there at some point when we return to Orlando for a non-Disney trip. My boys don't do rides either and they absolutely loved Sea World. You can get discounts by using Southwest Airline membership card - that's what we did. You can join for free if you don't already belong.

Just my 2 cents Animal kingdom is WAAAAY over rated. The only way that we would ever go there again is if we had park hopper passes and were doing a week at the parks. It is NOT worth it to do by itself.

Hi all,

I still have the t-shirt stuff from last time and would (gulp) volunteer to do it (with my trusty side kick ...and DS....Andrew!).

We'd need to set a deadline for ordering and then payment stuff again. I'm guessing we'd need to order everything by October 1 to get the t-shirts in and then get them shipped out to everyone so we can all have them on our first day.

Last time we did lime green (in honor of the DIS)...but we are surely open to another color....maybe a nice Caribbean Blue...or yellow...or.....

I am all for Caribbean blue:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 to heck with the lime green:scared1: I would make it easy on yourself and say Oct 1st. is the dead line for payment, then you would have plenty of time to ship them out on Nov. 1st.

Rob

Karen - Are you serious? Man this is getting fun! and so exciting! I second carribean blue! Count our whole family in!

Alwayslisad - Our family loves Seaworld. It is a really fun day and the scenery is so pretty.

BTW, I hope every one is starting to heal and are feeling well.
