Turkey Day Gang 2009

Totally understand about the $$$ Disney trips can really add up. We were able to use our Disney Rewards Visa and we were given a small discount.

A tip. If you can make it to the Grand Floridian on the night of one of the parties, you can see the Orange and Purple fireworks from there boat landing. We have gone to have a snack over there and stayed for the fireworks.

Thanks for the info. We might just do that. Only problem - if I get near GF I'm going to want to stay there. :goodvibes It was just opening when we went to DW on our honeymoon and I fell in love with it from the monorail. Maybe, one day, if I win the lottery or something.

Hi everyone,

Mom set me up with my own account so I could post instead of lurking behind her. I'm excited to see all the Turkeys again and can't wait to meet some new friends too. I just wish we didn't have to wait so long!

See you on the boards,

Andrew:wizard:

Well, what can I say...he was driving me insane looking over my shoulder all the time. Don'tcha just love his name though...."The Duck Stops Here." Can you tell we've been talking about Harry Truman?

Karen

Welcome Andrew and great idea Karen....

I love all the names on here - they are so unique that you can spend hours looking at them and trying to decide what they mean and some are quite obvious - but LOVE IT!!

my sn is from my favorite movie - ALWAYS - with richard dryfuss and holly hunter and john goodman - and then my name Lisa D :)

Welcome Andrew! Hmmm...... maybe, I should sign my boys up?

They're 12 and 8. But, then, we'd have to fight for DIS time. :rotfl:

I guess after our surprise trip in October. Wouldn't want them snooping around and ruin the surprise.

I love your screenname.

Have a great trip! Your Mom is going to buy some arcade cards for me when you're there.

Hi Lisa,

Andrew thought that it meant "always li sad" and wondered why you were always a little sad! Now he'll know you aren't sad!

Karen

jollytammy = tammy jolly (fulcher)

It was a bummer of a name growing up, but maybe it helped my sense of humour, cause I love a good laugh:laughing:
In fact my mother's maiden name was Rogers, so when my mom's mom moved in with us, we became the "jolly rogerspirate: ":rotfl2:

Mabye that would be a good idea, my mom won't let me post anything without her approving my posts.

Andrew:wizard:

P.S. Thanks, I like my screenname too.

I picked my name because of the song in Peter Pan II. You know...the part that says all you need is just some faith and trust and pixie dust!

Well, being a mom who works full-time (or full-time plus as I also do some grant writing on the side), with a DH who travels 40 to 65% of the time...some days I just run short (and I don't mean my height)!

My favorite character has always been Eeyore...not because I'm an Eeyore...but because he's just so cute, lovable and sad and I'd love to cheer him up! Can't say that I'm like a Tigger either....I guess I just feel more like Christopher Robin...pulling the animals together and making sure they keep marching!

It is fun to figure out everyone's screen name. Pillow...did you create yours because you're hoping for a pillow?

TTFN,

Karen

My screen name is the same one I use everywhere so I don't forget my screen name.

the first 5 letters are from my first name - sherr
and the last 3 letters are from the beginning of my last name - eis

If I knew that when I signed up here on the DIS that I was going to be addicted I would've been a lot more creative. Oh well. I don't want to change it now.

I picked my screen name after Mickey's desk in a comic strip. The name plaque read "THE DUCK STOPS HERE" and i thought it was funny:lmao: so that is how my screen name became.

Andrew:wizard:

Fun topic..how we chose our screen names!:)

Rob was embarrassed about 'our' screen name at our first DISboard cruise meets..."I'm 'Mickeyhugger's husband," he told whomever he met.:lmao: I actually chose the name from remembering our first trip to WDW when Rachel was 3 years old. She LOVED to go up and hug every character she'd meet. "You little Mickeyhugger, you" we said to her.:mickeyjum Oh, the memories. That was almost 10 years ago.:sad1: (Thank goodness, she still loves DCL best, and WDW is still her favorite place to vacation!):yay:

I think if you love Disney you never grow too old for it! After all, I'm 41 now (oops, gotta update my signature) and I'm definitely not too old for Disney! I think Andrew (who says he wants to be an Imagineer when he grows up) won't outgrow Disney either (at least, I hope not)!

So true...one is never too old for Disney!!! :thumbsup2

Our screen name is the same screen name that Chuck chooses for everything. Iceman has always been his nickname (last name is Eiss) and PAD is the legal fraternity that he has been very involved in.

Lisa

I think you can never grow out of disney, not in your teens or 99 years old, you'll always love the disney tradition:mickeyjum

PS Im exited about the Turkeys Sailing again:offtopic:

Hi Sherrie,

Got your note. Will take care of sending things to you from Pop.

Karen

Where did the name come from

It came from a comic stip called Mother Goose and Grimm. There was a scene with Mickey's desk at Disney Studios and the name plaque read "The Duck Stops Here." I thought it was amusing and decided to make it my screen name.

Karen -- (and family)

Have a great trip and I'm glad you liked the note. I liked the stamp. Didn't know they were around.

We may end up at CSR - I got a great PIN yesterday. Jack is deciding what he wants us to do. We could stay at POP for $238 less than our current AAA rate OR pay $98 more than AAA rate and upgrade to CSR. What decisions ?? :confused3

Have a great time and stay cool! Looking forward to hearing about it.
