Our last cruise I did every single napking folding, cake decorating session I could. About wore myself out. This cruise I'm gonna celebrate and spend as much time in quiet cove with a drink in my hand and hubby near by

I was showing my dh the journey necklace I want him to purchase for me in St. Thomas, and he asked me why I thought I was getting a necklace. It seems that in his mind you don't celebrate the 20th anniversary, you celebrate the 25th.
So-o-o I reminded him that I could instead arrange a renewal vow on the ship or one of the islands--with the cost and the dressing up and ds17 and ds13 having to dress up, and so on and so forth--and he quickly remembered that he was deffinately buying me the necklace

DH had told me that was one of the things he had been thinking about for my present for our 20th. I also gave him some other suggestions of things I might like. He's also trying to plan on getting me something for my "special" birthday coming up in July. So far, he's been pretty quiet about that.

Ok, I have a question. We have late seating this time, how many of you have late seating or early seating?

Another question: did you do the fish extenders the last time? Either they weren't the going thing our last cruise, or I missed any informatin about it (we weren't involved with a disgroup last cruise).

We always due late seating

The only time that we have done the fish extender was in 07.

I couldn't decide at first but 5-5:30 is so early for us as we usually eat dinner around 7. The only one of us that might have problems is DS8 (who will be DS9.5 at the time of the cruise). If there are a lot of things going on with the kids' group at that time we'll probably let him eat quickly with us and then go do his "thing."

Can't answer for the fish extenders. It's our first cruise. I did get the directions for them in case we do need one.

Hello everyone. Hope you all are enjoying your Holiday Weekend. We are. My DH opened the pool this weekend and the kids are all over and swimming. Which gives me plenty of down time. I'm glad you brought up fish extenders. What exactly are we to do with them? My take is - hang it up outside our cabin and leave and receive little trinkets and things for our fellow disers. This sounds like fun. But where do we get them?

Also this has no doubt been discussed but does my husband need a tuxedo or will a nice suit and tie do? He really is not the tux type.

He doesn't need a tux (although you can find some good deals on e-bay). A suit will work fine. People wear just about everything.

Hi everyone!! We just returned from WDW weekend!! When there's no school and no work...we like to spend time visiting the mouse!!



We participated in the fish extender exchange thanksgiving 2007 and spring break 2008. Mason (our 8 1/2 year old ds) loved giving and getting little gifts throughout the vacation!! I am not crafty at all, so I bought a mickey fish extender on ebay. Others were very creative and made personalized fish extenders. We would definitely participate again!!

It depends on the cruise. During Thanksgiving 2007 quite a few cabins participated in the fish extender gift exchange. There were far fewer cabins that participated during spring break 2008, but it was still a lot of fun for our DS!!

There were a lot of doors decorated for both recent cruises!! It is a great way to find your cabin in the long hallways!! One funny thing about door decorations, our names are Chuck and Lisa. On our spring break 2008 cruise a few cabins down from us there was another couple named Chuck and Lisa!! They came over and introduced themselves because of our names on our door decorations!!

Hi everyone,

We're in sunny Sanibel this week...enjoying the beach, shells and sun! It's so warm here. We were wearing sweatshirts at home when we left and now it's shorts and t's!

We have late seating again this time and found last time that we really preferred it (particularly so as Chuck linked us all up and had us sitting near one another). While early dining is great for those with little kids who need to get to bed earlier, we found that we preferred not having to run back from a shore excursion to get ready for dinner (and I think had we had early seating, we would have likely missed a few dinners!).

We did the fish extender thing in '07 and it was really fun. I think there were more than 20 of us that did it in '07....I remember bringing on board quite a bit of stuff...which then left room for the souveniers on the way home! We also had a lot of fun with the door decorations. Wendy (tinkerbell99) is great at designing door magnets and helped many of us (who are far less talented) with door magnets.

I sewed our fish extender the night before we left...it wasn't hard...and there are also "no sew" instructions on the boards under the fish extender thread. You can also buy them on ebay...but they're not called fish extenders, they're called something else and I can't remember what....

Gotta go...the shells are calling!

I couldn't help myself and bought a fish extender off of ebay! It just looked so cute! I'm thinking even if we don't do an exchange, it would be cool hanging by our door The lady on ebay even embroidered our family name on it--included in the price.

This will be our first time doing the late eating. It will be nice not to worry about rushing back to the ship to be there in time to eat.

When we get to about 3-6 months out, I will start doing a dinner link again...as karen noted, we had a very successful link this past trip with about 60 or so total people....in 2005, we linked 28 total CABINS, and then really confused the wait staff by constantly switching tables....but we tipped well.

And for insane weeks, I was in orlando yesterday, Daytona today, South Florida tomorrow and will be in Baltimore on Thursday for the weekend...I am already tired (of course that includes Disney this past weekend)...
