Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

We just saw John Travolta and his daughter Ella promoting the new movie Old Dogs on Ellen. The movie looks very cute!! :thumbsup2 According to Ellen, it opens Nov. 25th...so we should be able to see the "premear" on Nov. 24th. It is a Disney movie!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

OK, I'm confused now too. :confused3

Laura, I don't have you on my FE list...what cabin number are you?

This mini group navigator...what is it? Is this something one of you guys print out on your own for us?

I'm passing good HEALTHY vibes along to everyone:grouphug:

Hi everyone! I'm officially in starting to "freak out" mode :scared1: and DexH hasn't even started packing yet. He is a notorious OVER packer and DD is a big old teenage mess so I can't wait for the two of them to share a cabin. PS - if in doubt, find me at the Cove staying the heck away from the clash of the titans!!! :lmao:

I am so READY READY READY to go away. Haven't figured out what to do in St. Thomas for the day. What is everyone doing that day? I'm not big on "official" cruiseline excursions, so if anyone has found anything cool to do, please share

We're doing a tour with Sunny Liston.

Hi Larry-

Based on your recommendation, Wendy's recommendation, and reading various articles, we ordered some of these as well!! :) :thumbsup2 :) :thumbsup2

Lisa

Which brand did you all buy? I was thinking about it and kept putting it off.

Christine -- hope all the flu buggies go away!

I may not be correct on this, but I think Laura is the one who joined the thread late and opted not to participate in FE, which would explain why she cannot be found on the FE list.

Hello Everyone,

Extremely exhausted over here. My trainer has been making me do extra tough workouts because she knows the cruise is coming REALLY soon.

SIX more days of work!!!!

Ordered books through the library. I'm hopeful they come soon or I'm going to have to make a couple more purchases before the trip. Trying to convince DH that reading while on the beach is the most relaxing thing ever... especially if you have a nice beverage to go with it!:cloud9: That is heaven.

Would anyone be interested in a book swap on board? I know it might be difficult to pack a book or two but I know that I have so many books that I have read and I would love to be able to swap them on the boat and read something new without it costing anything.

I have to admit I'm a romance reader, but I have all different types.

No biggie if we think this would be too tough. I thought maybe those interested could meet early on in the cruise and do it?

Any thoughts?

Well, that would make sense as to why we can't find her.:lmao:

Lisa - I really hope to see Old Dogs and the 3-D Christmas Movie. Very exciting, especially a prem"ear". Fun, fun, fun....

Gotta a question for all of you veterans - What's your favorite beverage on board? Is there one on board that you just can not wait to have? Just need ideas of what to order.... I can't wait to be ordering that first drink upon boarding..... ahhhhh...:woohoo:

I was talking to my DH (Jerry) and telling him about all the things I want to do onboard and he was laughing saying that we will definitely need to think about re-booking onboard because we will never be able to fit it all in.... Gotta love this man...:lovestruc

Have a great night everyone.

Castaway Colada !!!!!

Chuck -- thanks for the info. Going to go look at them.

Jodie -- thanks for the MVMCP link. The boys are super excited now.

Does anyone know if there are any "special" or "rare" characters that you'll see at MVMCP vs. regular days? I'm just wondering as Andrew has many of the "regular" autographs....but we're hoping to maybe find a few of the rarer characters!

Ha ha! Have to admit, I was wondering why you wanted to know what the Veterans like to drink. Seriously, I thought maybe you'd be buying a round for Veterans onboard since it's Veteran's Day! :rotfl: But then I got it. ;)

So to answer your question, my fav is the Konk Kooler (or is it Conch Cooler?). Mmmmm... And if you order one BEFORE we get to Castaway Cay, the bartender will assume you've cruised before. :) Try one this weekend!
6oz. Dark Rum (I use Captain Morgan's)
6oz. Light Rum (I use Parrot Bay)
8oz. Orange Juice (no pulp)
12oz. Passion Fruit Juice (Welches)
8oz. Cream of Coconut (I use Coco Lopez)
2 cups of ice

Mix all in a blender and blend until smooth. (editing to add that this serves at least 4, and I copied it from another DIS board)

And to everyone, THANKS for the hugs and positive thoughts. I will keep you posted!

Konk Kooler
Pink Lemonade (made w/ Vodka, Lemonaid, Sprite and Grenadine)
BBC (Banana Bailey Colada)

These are all awesome drinks!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

WOO boy -- it is crazy windy here! :tilt: I had not been paying attention to the weather and therefore was not expecting the winds and storm surges that are happening here (kinda preoccupied with DD10). We're in Virginia Beach, and from the looks of the Weather Channel tonight, I guess we're getting the brunt of the Hurricane Ida leftovers.

Some schools have already canceled classes for tomorrow -- don't know yet if we'll be so lucky. After missing work (me) and school (dd10) most of the past week, I'd love for them to be closed tomorrow -- one less day to worry about! BUT, doesn't it figure that I already emailed the teachers and the office explaining she'd be absent? ah well...

Just joined the group...realized the other day I was on 2010 Thanksgiving Cruise not 2009...which explains why they were leavign 11/20 instead of 11/21:rotfl2: Explains why I need this vacation.

Ok, family of 4....this is our 3rd Disney Magic Cruise...2003, 2006, 2009 and this time we are bringing friends (other Mom and her 2 daughters)

We want to join FE (ordered them on ebay)......what do you need to know?

Where is the most popular place to get FE supplies from?
