Hi

I haven't celebrated Thanksgiving for several years, every year,DD10 is with her DF for the holiday. Well now she wants to be with me, ok, so I order a dinner to pick up Wednesday night.

So it would be DD, DM and myself for Thanksgiving after I get off of work. Now, Dm states she doesn't want Turkey. Ok, well I am not making a seperate thing after I get off work.

Should DD and I try a restuarant and cancel the big meal I was planning on heating up lol?

Dd likes turkey, but I don't want to spend 45.00 on food that is going to go to waste, because only 2 people are going to eat it. DD likes turkey, maybe I could get some turkey cuts from the store, brown and serve rolls , Stove top.

Any ideas? Thanks

I'd ask DD & DM what they want to do. Going to a resteraunt may be okay.

Enjoy your day with your girl and mom!

This weekend at Sam's I purchased a Turkey Breast that was precooked but requires reheating- that would be easy and not a whole turkey... I know you can get "just legs" too-

For your mom- you could get a rotissarie chicken the day before or something like that.

I would suggest going to a restaurant. Lots of hotel restaurants offer traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Prior to kids, DH and I and another couple always had Thanksgiving dinner at a nice fancy hotel, that was our way of celebrating.

A special restaurant trip with your daughter sounds like a lot of fun. If you do go that way, however, make a reservation ASAP. You'd hate to end up at Golden Corral.

Perhaps DM can bring something she would prefer over Turkey. Maybe a casserole or pasta. Or maybe add on to the dinner you've already ordered. Hope you can make things work!

:)

DM lives with us and she doesn't cook, ever. But Ithink I will ask DD if she wants to go to restuarant or maybe get turkey slices from deli, with stove top and brown and serve rolls.

I will ask her today so I can make ressies if needed, I went to Golden Corral once, that was it. lol

I would pick something that we both loved! Our favorite meals. Spend the day baking and making a beautiful meal together. Maybe do some Christmas Decorating inbtwn the cooking. get some yummy deserts. Rent her favorite movie. Have a fun mother daughter day
