First Post!! 20 days to go!!!!

OK, we have a 5:50 PS at CP for dinner on turkey day. I'm not planning on being at MK at all that day, except to go to PS and then stay awhile. Trying to stay out of the crowds.

Now I'm hearing that sometimes they close the park when it reaches capacity. If I don't plan to go to MK that whole day then come around 5:00, but the park is closed off, do they let people in with PSs or will they turn us away?

Do you think I should just go to MK that day, brave the crowds and hang around till PS time, or can I still go to other parks and then come back later?

Thanks guys. DISers RULE!

First welcome and congrats on your very first post...

Don't worry about it :) Thanksgiving is VERY busy but it is not a day that generally closes for capacity (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and Fourth of July are the typical days that it will close). Since you have a PS make sure you bring the number with you. If they do close they will usually still let you in for your PS...(it's Disney... if they don't let you in, you don't eat, if you don't eat they lose money :) )

Have a great time :)

Welcome to the DIS!!!

We did MK on Turkey Day in 1998. Two words about that for us: Never Again!!!

Very crowded. Why don't you do another park that day and show your PS's when going into MK for your meal if you need to?

Have a great trip and stick around here in these next 20 days. We had the best trip to WDW thanks to these boards. Got the best tips! Then, come back and visit with us again after the trip, too! Safe travels and hug the mouse for me!!!!!

:earsboy: WELCOME to the DIS oogieboogie :earsboy:

I've never been at WDW on Thanksgiving day but what Liberty Belle says is most likely true! ;) One thing I do recommend is to be walking in the gate of MK a least 45 min. before your actual PS time.

Have a wonderful trip!:sunny:

thanks guys.. this info is calming me down quite a bit. I was so afraid that I'd have to do a lot of skin-to-skin contact at MK just to get my turkey dinner.:crowded:

If it's a turkey dinner you want...most if not all restaurants serve it that day ...3 yrs ago we had a surprisingly good turkey dinner at the ASMo and 2 yrs ago we had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner at O'hana....this year we are thinking of going to a different resort and check it out...maybe AKL
