Some people (many?) like the appetizers and side dishes more than the turkey and stuffing.

What are you planning to make or bring to your Thanksgiving dinner?

It will just be 6 of us, but I’m bringing deviled eggs and crabmeat stuffed mushrooms to DD’s house. Her future MIL is bringing some type of sausage stuffed puff pastry rolls.

DD herself will likely make a veggie tray and several dips.

Gobble Gobble

Bisquick sausage balls are a MUST.
Oooo what are these?

Also my family it’s usually basic crudite and pepperoni and cheese. We sometimes have shrimp cocktail and because my aunt hosts thanksgiving she always makes various types of bread she serves with cream cheese and butter (banana, pumpkin and usually one other). There’s also bowls of nuts and candy around.

Turkey day the big part of the meal is the main meal. Christmas is when it’s just constant pig out mode

It's just going to be my family of 4 this year. There is a slim chance that we'll have one guest and make a group of 5.

My plan is to do what I did last year, just make a spread of meats, cheeses, nuts, preserves, crackers and fruit.

Though after seeing the above ideas, I could make sauerkraut balls too. I have a friend from Akron, she taught me how to make them about 20 years ago. They're disgusting and wonderful.

Everyone's snacks sound soooo good. We don't do a lot of apps here because there are a lot of sides with the meal, but we'll have some cheese and crackers, nuts, olives, stuff like that. One thing we always have, following tradition from grandma, is celery stuffed with a cream cheese/blue cheese mix. That has to appear.

Ooooh. Sounds deliciously appalling. ;)

I love me some kapusta.

We are bringing money for stuff we don't get to pick & wine, so that's happening.

At home our lunch will include family favorite appetizers of Knorrs Veggie mix with spinach on little cut squares of rye pumpernickel swirl alongside some artichoke spinach dip with nacho chips.

DD wanted us to bring some of what we like and I informed her eating oddball things you don't want at a relatives while answering awkward questions about one's life experiences is the glue that ties humanity together, it is a necessary ingredient. When I was a kid we did it without computers, watching the Macys Parade and sticking to the plastic covered furniture until being summoned for cleanup duty.

Depends on what size crowd we expect. This year it's just going to be 7 of us and a later dinner time, this year we are doing brie cups, ranch dip, a simple relish tray and deviled eggs. If I was expecting more people I'd go from relish tray to proper crudité and add in spinach dip in a bread bowl and crab bisque.
