Anyone have these?

I'm looking into these because my fiance and I are very active people and expensive rings just won't hold up

Any sites or stores that carry creative tungsten rings??

TIA!

Most major jewelers in this area (Kay, Zales, Hannoush, Belden) carry Tungsten bands (at least men's bands, that's what I remember looking for). I wanted Tungsten because of the durability, but was turned off when the different associates recommended against it due to the fact that if, for some reason, the ring needs to be cut off (hand caught, etc.), Tungsten is close to impossible to cut.

Not sure of the truth to this, but I got the same input from a couple different retailers. I went with the platinum band because of this info, and even though it's a bit scratched up after 3 years, I still love it! Good luck, hope this helps a bit!

If you do decide against tungsten, palladium is another more durable material (than platinum) and is cheap cheap cheap! :thumbsup2

We purchased a tungsten ring for my DF at a website called www.debebians.com. We paid about $100 for it.

When it arrived, it was just a little too large for him, and because it was tungsten, it was not able to be resized. However, there is a warranty on the ring, and the jeweler was happy to replace it for $45.00.

Here's what I read regarding the emergency cutoff:

What if a extremely hard ring gets stuck on my finger, can a ring be cut off?
Tungsten, titanium, or stainless steel rings can easily be slid off your finger using butter, liquid soap, or hand cream. If your finger gets injured and swells, the ring can be cut off using a ring cutting tool. Rings made extremely hard, like tungsten carbide, can only be removed by cracking them into pieces with standard vice grip style locking pliers. Standard ring cutters will not work. Removing a tungsten ring doesn’t pose much more of a challenge than cutting through a traditional precious metal ring. Every hospital emergency room will be equipped to remove any wedding band in case of an emergency. If you slam your hand in a door or drop a heavy object on your finger, in most cases it is the ring itself causing the hand injury in which it must be cut off. Stainless steel, tungsten, and titanium rings pose less threat do to the rings being so hard that they don't crush or bend out of place, placing pressures on the finger. Tungsten has properties where rather then bending and crushing, it would rather fracture into several pieces and fall off your finger freely. You might be safer wearing a tungsten ring than a precious metal band.

My husband is a firefighter and very hard on rings..I just got him this stainless ring with comfort fit and it is holding up great (and was on $45!!)

DF has a Tungsten ring. We paid like $280 for it but isn't plain. We bought it at Jared's and he was able to order a new one when the one that he bought didn't fit.

It is very heavy, but he works with his hands and its supposedly super durable. We might buy him a white gold band to wear when he's not at work.

I haven't seen any women's Tungsten rings or bands.

We went with Titanium (with gold and platinum inlay)

We bought them from titaiumera.com. That site also has tungsten rings.

Hope this helps!

i just picked up a Palladium ring from our local jewelery store here for $170.. I would look at that too..

DH has a Tungsten ring. It has a carbon fiber inlay and we got it at Zales. He loves it. Its a little loose on him but he didn't want to get a smaller size. I never thought about needed it to be cut off. Hopefully we won't need that!

MY DF LOVES HIS RING! He said that the gold rings and the titanium rings weren't heavy enough. Also he loves the design. I tried to get him to pick one that goes with mine but he is stuck on this one. Also when we purchased our rings from Helzberg we purchased a lifetime warranty so if his size changes we can get a new one for no charge. This is his ring:

DF is getting a tungsten ring for it's durability. He'll be working on a carrier ship and, like said above, he needs the extra safety! Most of the guys on the ship get that type of ring or they don't wear one when working. But, they do have fairly extreme hazards on the job and a lot of chances for damage!

I actually have never heard of Tungsten rings, very interesting

DH's ring is Titanium, because he's in the Army and tough on his hands, too. He loves it. It's not heavy at all. We bought it in Germany, where I guess they actually charge you for the cost of the metal, instead of inflating the price because it's a "wedding ring." We paid 16 euro (about $25) for it here and saw them two weeks later in the states for hundreds of dollars...

My dad is a Deputy Sheriff and extremely active and he SWEARS by his tungsten ring. He hasn't had any problems with it. I know he got it for a really good price at Zales or somewhere similar.

My soon-to-be BIL has a tungsten ring, he's convinced my DF to get one as well. We found the one we want at www.tungstenworld.com. We want the Celic Knot etched into it so are going to be paying a little more for that. My DF is rough on his hands so he likes that it won't scratch and that it is a little heavier than regular rings.

This is the only picture of DH's ring I have right now. He loves it. We got it from Whitehall which I believe is now out of business. It was 99.00.
