Tuesday arrival? What are my chances?

We are to fly in Tuesday and are hoping the airport will be open, as well as Disney. How late can we wait to cancel? Will Food and Wine still be on?

Until Irma has passed by Orlando, and damage assessments can be made, no one is really sure. It looks like Irma should get past by Monday afternoon. How much damage will she leave behind, and how long will it take to clean up? When will Governor Scott remove the state of emergency?

Food and Wine Festival continues until the second weekend in November. If you have to reschedule your trip, you have plenty of time! Be safe!

This is solid advice.

As I've pointed out in the Irma thread, MCO may be open but if Jacksonville enroute traffic control is affected there may be limited flights in and out of MCO for a while. You will just have to check for emails from your airline and be prepared to make alternate plans.

Airline phone apps can also be very helpful for tracking flights reservations, possible delays and gate changes.

Also, please if you arrive Tuesday have low, low expectations for any room requests.

You will have an idea of what will be happening in 24 hours or so.

At this point you have to let the storm pass and see what happens

This. At present United (for example) is showing MCO flights on Monday are cancelled. Tuesday's are on schedule. Definitely a wait and see situation.

Depends on your airline and airport...we were due to fly in Tuesday to Tampa on SWA and SWA canceled that yesterday. Tampa will take a harder hit than Orlando of course.

And this changes rapidly - out of curiousity I did a check on my flight status for my original flight out of MCO on Tuesday and it looks like United has cancelled a number of their flights in the morning/early afternoon out of MCO, but the late afternoon flights have not yet been cancelled. Expecting this to change as people get a better idea of how things will turn out.

Keep monitoring it with your airline. Some Tues flights are getting canceled now but some aren't. The Reservation center should be open again on Tues so don't sweat now because you couldn't call to try to even try to cancel anyway until Tues. Food & Wine thru beg of Nov :)

Frontier Airlines are saying that MCO will be reopening on Tuesday at Noon. Warning people not to come to the airport unless you have a confirmed ticket on a scheduled flight!
