Tues & Wed after Thanksgiving - some questions

I'm pretty DL savvy, but have never been during the holiday season. First, we were hoping for low crowds, but it's sounding like that may not be the case. We don't have MM, but my kids do love FL. Should we hit IASW first due to longer holiday lines rather than Peter Pan? And get ST fp in the way in? How long does it take to get the fp? I thought you always just walked up and got them but one I hear there is a line?

Also, is it correct that we line up at security rather than a turnstile?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Is this correct.

The Tuesday and Wednesday after Thanksgiving?

Those aren't busy days. They just may be the days they film the Christmas Parade. If so avoid Main Street.

So I shouldn't be worried about crowd levels that week? I'm just trying to prepare for possible holiday craziness. I notice that DLR opens at 9am instead of 10am like the previous weeks, so I thought maybe that was an indication of larger crowds.

We were there last year the whole week after Thanksgiving and the crowds were pretty light after Monday (and Monday wasnt really bad). You should have a great time.

We were also there this week last year and loved it so much we are going again this year. Crowd levels were wonderful! We never had a problem with IASW line, but Peter Pan always always always had a long line, the longest in just about all of the rides at DL, haha. Even during MM it was long. We were there at opening every day and the lines weren't that long, but there was no rope drop. Remember to do the line behind the planter trick to get in, I kept telling my DH about it and he didn't believe me and bam as soon as it opened up that was the line to be in. Wed. was the least crowded day last year. You are going to have a great time!!!

P.S. Last year in the morning when the parks opened it was cold, but then warmed up really really fast, so if it was like last year it won't stay cold for long so don't dress too warm, then it got cold again just before dark.

Thanks for the reassurance!

What is the line behind the planter trick? And how does that play into going to the security line first?

Security/bag check will open before MM, just remember if bag check isn't open before you arrive don't bother going into the esplanade. They will just usher you back out.

If you aren't doing MM, the MM lines switch over to regular entrances at park opening. So while everyone is lined up in the regular gate lines waiting to get in, we hang off to the side and walk up to the MM entrance right before park opening. DH didn't believe me either and insisted on waiting in the long line.

The crowd predictor shows the week as a 2-3 out of 10. We're going that week because we want to see the holiday displays during the "slow" season.
