Tuck in at night ?

We're traveling with a friend of mine and her DS. He will have his b/day while we're on the ship. Someone told her she could get a character to come tuck him in bed one evening. Does anyone know anything about this?

I have seen where someone "rented" Mickey/Minnie for either wedding pictures or to propose the marriage. I don't think a character will do a tuck-in.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Disney characters are not available for "tuck in" service on the cruise. It would just be too difficult and time consuming for them to make special, in-cabin appearances. Unfortunately this rumor has been going around for quite a while now.

Kids can see the characters around the ship and in they also make appearances in the kids' clubs. One night there is a pajama party with Goofy for the 7 & under group.

The dining room will be able to celebrate a birthday for you though. They will provide a cake and sing to the birthday person. In the past there was also a pin given out but I'm not sure if this is still so. Just call DCL and have them note on your reservation that you're celebrating a birthday.

I believe they used to do the character tuck in thing on The Big Red Boat... maybe that's where the rumors originated?

Yes, they did do a character tuck in on the Big Red Boat. My son was able to participate in that wonderful event. They had the Looney Toons characters on the Big Red Boat when we did the cruise in 1997. My son had Tweety Bird tuck him in and he gave him a special pillow case with his character on it that he signed and the cruise photographer took some awesome photos of this special time! My son was only 3 at the time and he thought it was the most special thing that ever happen to him on vacation! Sure wish Disney could do something like this for the children. It was well worth the cost to surprise your child when there was a knock at the door and your favorite character is there to spend individual time with you in your room!!!

When you see the characters on the ship, be sure to tell them about your child's big day. They will make a fuss over him.

When we visited the parks before our first DCL cruise, DD asked Chip if he would be going on the ship. Several times during that trip, he'd see her and make his "sailing" sign to her!
