We are staying at BLT, so no problem to go there. We thought we "had" a boat reservation for the 30th, but things happened, not enough people signed up, so the boat was cancelled.\

For those of you who were at BLT for those nights and went to the lounge, what is a good time to get up there? Do we have time to watch Illuminations at Epcot on the 30th? If so, we would then take the monorails over to BLT, and get there around10:30, or 11? Is that enough time? IF not, then well, we'll just have to be sure to get there early enough on the 31st. What time would that be? Does anyone know??

BLT is our home resort and we visit TOTW half a dozen or more times a year; some of the servers actually recognize us. One of them told us that they NEVER have closed due to capacity issues even on 12/31. We were there 12/31/14; got a table when we arrived at 8, sat for a couple of hours, then left to walk around for a while (wanted someplace quiet so sat a while in one of the elevator lobbies). We went back and staked out a spot at the rail at about 11:15; by 11:30 crowd was 2-3 deep. The balcony supposedly holds 500, and they set up an extra bar outside. If you want a spot at the rail, 11pm arrival should be fine either night.

We went up 20 to 11 last night, sat for awhile with drinks. Did not get to railing, but had an enjoyable view from one end of the balcony. Glad we went!

We have BLT plans for July 3rd next!

See you there!

Yes!

Our experience was that the 30th was a lot less crowded. We got to lounge shortly before 11, and did not get a spot on the rail when we went on deck at 11:30, but we were at the right hand side, by a metal rail, so no one was in front of us. However, we decided to get there earlier on NYE so we could be by the wall. We were up to the lounge at 10 and immediately waited by the wall. It was necessary because most spots were taken. They did have a bar outside. We chatted with a very nice family from Cumberland County NJ, just up the road from our Cape May home! The time went by fairly quickly, they were great company! We saw great fireworks.

We did see a DVC family turned away because they were not staying at BLT. The MBs tell the story of where you are staying.

Also, the MBs told our server we were DVCers and we got the discount at Artist Point's dinner! I knew TIW did not work on NYE, did not know the DVC discount was valid!:) Well, she got the extra as tip.

I want to take the family here in April. Is it a good place for kids? Or should I just plan on a babysitter and just take my wife?
