Travelling with my mother in law who can walk, but has issues with long distances. I'm concerned about adding additional walking from the TTC lot if Trams arent running. Would it make sense to do valet parking at polynesian or contemporary, and then take a ferry/monorail? not concerned about the cost, just the walk. Thanks!

That would make sense to me. An alternative might be to drop her off at the TTC before you park, but that means she'll be waiting at the TTC for you a little while. (From World Dr., don't enter the MK parking lot, instead follow signs on the left to Guest Dropoff, then after dropping her off, circle around past Poly, back to World Dr., make the U-turn where indicated, and enter the MK parking lot.) Valet parking makes a lot more sense to me than that. I'd valet at Poly or at GF - if you valet at CR, she'd have to walk to MK or up to the monorail platform (and then ride the monorail through TTC, Poly and GF before getting to MK).

The other thing you can do is pay the extra amount for preferred parking. That gets you much closer in most cases.
Are you staying on property, though? If so, your resort's MK bus will drop off right at the park.

Not staying on property this time, did an Airbnb for a house since we would have needed At least two rooms.

will try the Polynesian valet, worst that happens is they send Us back. We do like the counter service coffee bar that used to be up in the 2nd floor of polys lobby. We would book a breakfast but nothing available

pixiedust: for you to valet at Poly or GF!

Do you have a handicap parking hang tag? Can you get one? Get to the park early, before those parking places are taken

Unfortunately no tag… she is a bit older but still functional lol… I’m just concerned about adding to the walking distance for her. We are giving it a shot this morning, I’ll let everyone know how it turns out. We have DAS for my son so aren’t concerned about making rope drop

^^ I agree. Valet parking is MORE expensive then MK parking, so no one is going to 'game' the system by paying more. The gaming is about those who want to avoid paying for MK parking by parking for free at a monorail hotel.

Why not? I get not parking in the resort "self parking" and going to a park, but I thought using the valet was "ok".

Why not? Because if too many people do that, they will resort to what the Contemporary does now. No getting in the parking lot at all without an ADR.

Also, if you have to lie to do something you probably shouldn't do it.

In defense of the recent poster, they did pay to park via valet, so that their MIL wouldn't have to walk a distance that would be difficult for her. They did not lie to get into the GF parking lot.

I agree that people shouldn't lie to get into the regular parking lot in order to avoid paying for parking. This person did not lie.

We both paid for valet and ended up eating there, but at the walk up coffee/pastry since no reservations were available.
We did later learn about (and used at Epcot) medical overflow parking which allowed us to park near, not in the handicap area and save her the long walk. Not sure if ttc has that but the cm said the parks do

Yes, the TTC does have Medical Overflow parking.

Another thing we found helped at least a bit, was telling the parking CM that we had an elderly passenger for whom walking was difficult. Most of the time they allowed us to get out of the standard parking order and park near the end of the line nearest the walking path. Not a full solution, but in some cases it cut the walk by a hundred yards or so.
