Hi! We have a dinner at Ohana at the Polynesian resort for 8:00pm. What's the best way to get back to Wilderness Lodge?

We were planning on either:
1. taking the monorail around to MK and taking the ferry
2. taking the monorail around to CR and taking the ferry to WL

Would we also be able to walk to TTC and take a bus right to WL? That'd be easier, I think, but I couldn't find anywhere to confirm whether that was an option. Thanks!

You can certainly walk from Poly to the TTC, but no buses (normally) go from TTC to WL, unfortunately. The WL is literally only separated from the TTC by a road, but it's not safe to try to walk there from the TTC.

Unless you drive (2 minute drive from Poly to WL), you have 2 options that aren't all that bad:

- As you mentioned, monorail from Poly to MK (assuming it's still running that late), and then boat from MK to WL. Only 1 transfer this way.

- Boat from Poly to MK, then boat from MK to WL. The boat may be slower than the monorail (on the way to MK but not the other way around), but it's a shorter walk to get from one dock to the other dock, than from the monorail to the dock. Also only 1 transfer.

I wouldn't do the monorail to CR. That's a bit of walk to get to the dock at CR from the monorail. Also, there seems to always be a longer wait for that CR/WL/FW boat than for the WL/MK boat, in my experience. Also, it's a bit longer monorail ride this way because it has to stop at MK a certain amount of time before heading on to CR. If you get off at MK, this wait doesn't apply.

If it were me, I would go to MK, hop off and take the boat to WL from there. It is pretty much 6 of one, half dozen of another as to whether to boat from MK or CR. I love the boat ride so like it to be as long as possible.

Even at, say 9:15 when the fireworks are ending?

Those boats (generally) run for an hour after park closing. They may run longer to get people still at MK if there's an especially large crowd (they're not going to strand people at MK). This may be especially true if WDW sticks with their new earlier closing monorail schedule (there are many threads about this but I haven't read them thoroughly), but in my experience the MK area resort boats are able to get the glut of people going from MK to an MK resort out of there within 30 minutes or so. Keep in mind the WL boats are much bigger than the Poly/GF boats, so once you get to MK, you may well be able to get on the first or second boat to get to the dock, even at MK closing. Your mileage, as they say, may vary, though.
