TT or Soarin, which would you FP & which would you do standby in the afternoon?

We will only have 3 days in the parks. We will be hopping to Epcot after a morning at AK. Between TT & Soarin, which would you use FP on & which would you do standby? We will be going during low crowd time in September but I'm sure these will still have long lines.

We FP+ Soarin' because it's a slow-loading ride, and use standby rider line for Test Track. :thumbsup2

If you can do Single-Rider line at Test Track, then Soarin is the one to get the FP+ for.

BUT with two small children, Single Rider probably isn't going to work for you.

So it's probably a matter of which of the two you are more interested in, as the waits for Test Track 2.0 can be as long as the waits for Soarin.

In either case, what I would do is this: IN ADVANCE: book the FP+ as early as possible (e.g. if you plan to arrive at Epcot by 1:00, book it for something like 12:30 to 1:30). IN THE PARK: Then, after you ride it (whether Test Track or Soarin), move one of your other 2 FP+s up to as close to immediately as possible (for example, Spaceship Earth) and ride right away; then move up the 3rd FP+ to as soon as possible (for example, Living with the Land) and ride. THEN...see if you can get a 4th FP+ for the other premium ride. (The earlier you become eligible to do this, the better your chances of it working. It may work, but it may not.)

This is what I'm thinking would be best to do. What do you think the chances are of a TT FP still bring available at 4pm? That's probably the earliest we could use all 3 FPs.

Not much feedback yet on this.

See http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3299577 for a few comments. Maybe if you post to that thread, which will bounce it to the first page, maybe we'll get some more feedback....

If you think your kids can make it through to the EMH at EPCOT I'd use your FP+ for TT and standby Soarin' right after Illuminations. The line for Soarin' drops off significantly even during the early parts of EMH.

For us, Soarin'! We always do single rider on TT, and generally there's little to no wait at all. We're going mid-December, and we're going to be doing (trying for) the same... FP for Soarin', single riding on TT.

You might want to consider re-organizing your day to do Epcot at rope drop and AK later. You could do Soarin' first thing in the morning with little wait and use your FP+ on TT. If you hopped to AK at about 2:30 you should be able to do most of AK before it closes, as the crowds decrease greatly there late in the day. You might even be able to get some new FP's once you get there. When the park closes you will probably have time to hop again to Epcot for Illuminations or DS for Fantasmic. We have used this strategy for AK in the past and it has always worked well for us, and we were there at peak times in the summer.

That was my original plan but on a another thread I posted, people suggested I do AK first, then hop to Epcot. I'm so torn.

I think the lines thin out a lot at Animal Kingdom after the 3:45 parade, so there might not be much wait for the Safari, Kali, or Everest (will you even be doing Everest, with young kids?). Also, a better chance of scoring a 4th FP+ for any of those, I think, than for Test Track or Soarin.

September is a low-crowd time, so that will work in your favor, whatever you decide. :)

We would ride safari, kali & dinosaur at AK. So now I'm thinking I should go back to the plan of Epcot first, then AK & hopefully be able to FP those rides after the 3rd at Epcot. Would it be too much to go back to Epcot after that?

I was under the impression the parade has been discontinued. So if you Rope Drop AK, you should be able to do everything the kids can participate in by 1PM. With just DBF and I, we can be done be noon, including multiple rides on Everest.

I presume you'd be going back to Epcot only for Illuminations? Or is there EMH there that evening?

In either event, it is do-able IF you aren't too exhausted by that point. If Illuminations is skippable, you could decide after you finish AK if you're finished for the day.

Given your situation, I think the Epcot-first plan sounds best.

Agave girl: thanks for your correction. I see that the AK parade has indeed been discontinued.

It's definitely something we can decide if we want to go back or not. We were going to skip AK this time but decided to get park hoppers. So, I think we will stick to Epcot first, just so I know we will get to ride TT & Soarin without a long wait. Then if we feel like it, we can hop to AK. Do you know if we have to use 4 FPs before we can hop & use additional ones at another park? Or is it only 3? I read some things that made it confusing to understand.

I have read a lot about FP+ experiences, and I haven't seen anyone say that you need to use 4 FPs before getting another one at another park. Everyone who hopped said they were eligible for FP+ at the second park once they had used their 3 FP+s (or the times for them had expired) at the first park.

I think you have a good plan.
