TT needs a good scrub

Here's what happened on my experience.

Someone in loop 300 (which is where we like to stay) called a local power wash service to clean their RV on site. Right directly across from us. It takes several hours to power wash, power wax and buff. From there they pass out business cards, other people approach them fo wash their RV,,and presto they are on your loop for a week runn'n their equip. morning to late afternoon.
After 3 days, I went to the front desk to make a complaint. The young person at the desk did not know what to say except, sorry. I asked to speak to someone with authority, someone came from the back office and proceeded to tell me that as long as a customer requested an off site business to come in for whatever service it was fine with them. At which point I let them know my extremely irritated feelings on the situation (which went COMPLETELY in one ear and out the other).

Outside of the obvious reasons we have already discussed, does anybody stop to think of the security issues here ?? What's the point in having a security at the gate if anybody can just say I was called by site 312 to work ??? What's wrong with this picture?? Am I the only one who sees this??

"Hi...yes sir..the occupants in site 1103 called to clean their 5th wheel while they visit the parks....thanks for the quick access...by the way...Ive never pulled a 5th wheel before...can you radio someone to that site to help me pull the trailer out of the spot, I'd hate to damage my...um THEIR trailer when pulling out."

You raise a VERY good point Frank. Really, what is the point of having security if they're going to let anyone with a business card in.
Even if these companies have good intentions..and I'm sure most do. You dont know who works for them, and their given free access to the campground, where they can watch and know just who is spending time in their rigs..and who may be gone for the day. Additionally, most folks traveling to Disney have extra cash or credit cards with them. Easy pickin's there too. :sad2:

We all know anybody can get anywhere in disney if they want its not just the RV washers. We know people take bikes over to FW and ride around (not that there is anything wrong with that) when they are not camping there.

I noticed a lovely blonde haired lady on a bike with a stuffed otter in a child carrier. She was hooking up a travel trailer to the rear bumper of her bike a few weeks ago. I reported it to the front office. They sent someone to investigate, but they said whoever it was took off like a bat of hell. :confused3

See what I mean you already know. :rotfl2:

If you think Disney will care about your complaints, you are sadly mistaken. I am sure they are charging those companies to enter the fort and do work for you. So if it is generating cash, then your complaint will fall on deaf ears.

We did sort of figure that they are getting a piece of the pie so to speak..or they wouldn't be there. Only if they are disturbing more people, it wouldn't hurt Disney to know about it either. Maybe they can find a way to allow them in, but do it such a way so as to be respectful of other campers. Say..a specific place to bring your rig if you want it professionally cleaned. Disney would still get their piece and "keep the peace" at the same time. ;)

Does anyone have any proof that Disney is charging the contractors a fee or is it simply a theory ?

As far as I know..(and we all know what that's worth:laughing: ) it is a theory. Based of course on the observation that Disney doesn't do anything unless they profit from it. Perhaps Frank, knows more about that. He was quite bothered by the situation during his last camping trip to the Fort and spoke with the folks at check in.
Just been my experience with both campgrounds that we've been seasonal in and those we've nightly camped in, they generally discourage cleaning your rig.
When we were seasonal they did allow us to clean our RV..but it had to be done on a week day, not a weekend, and between certain hours. Not during the dinner hour when people might be BBQ-ing, that sort of thing. Nightly campers..were not permitted to clean their RV's. Of course I've seen people give them a quick hose down..but never more than that. Does seem a bit odd to me that Disney allows professional cleaning services into to the Fort.

If they would just use a hose and not the power washer that would help.

Hey everyone! My TT needs a good scrubbing and none of the campgrounds I stay in allow me to wash her down. At WDW I've seen services come to wash them there....does anyone know who I can call and make an appointment with for my trip down there? When it was last serviced they really did a number on it and I want it clean...!! Seems unfair I'm not allowed to wash it!!! Anyway if any of you have numbers in the WDW area please let me know so I can schedule it in advance...bet January won't be too hard to find...they can't be toooooo busy then huh???

I had mine done at the Fort this year. They did a fantastic job and DANG my rig looked good. I will see if I can find their card but it may be in my Fiver. I will use them again next year while at the Fort too.:thumbsup2 You can ususally see them doing someone's rig unless they are away at a big event such as bike week.

Unless Disney were to offer an area where you could clean your RV I dont really see this issue getting resolved. I agree that a power washer droning on all day would get old real fast. I frankly dont see the advantage to using a power washer, I would never use one on my rig. I agree with the other posters about the problem with them, perhaps if everyone that encounters it being done in their loop were to make their thoughts known to FW managers the problem would be recognized. My guess is that typically very few people complain and the likelyhood of the same CM hearing similar complaints regularly is remote.

If a clean up area were available I would gladly use it when arriving at FW, some of us drive a very long distance to get there and there really are not any cleanup options on the way in. I have scouted for self serve car washes and havent found anything large enough for an RV.

As I was reading this thread, I was thinking the same thing ~ too bad they don't have an area where a company could set up a self-service and a full-service RV wash. (Kind of like the gas station on property). Everyone could wash their rigs (or have their rigs washed) on the way in/out without disturbing other campers. I would imagine that would make a lot of money and keep everyone happy?

Actually, (even if not on property) I'm sure they do have RV wash available in the Orlando area, if you take the time to search it. Soooo, just stop on your way to/from the Fort and have it cleaned so not to bother happy campers.

Still, not to mention the security aspect of the whole thing. :sad2:

I agree that power washers all day long would get old really quick. I dont have a problem with them hand washing and using a hose though. Lots of RV resorts have a place to wash your rig off...that would be great if the Fort did too!

I have looked for years Frank, nothing to be found. There is a nice was over by camping world but I can only use it for my truck, its not big enough for a trailer.

Steve,
If you can find the card for the service you used let me know! The inside is good just needs a good outside scrubbing including my awning!!! Janet

I might be mistaken, but most likely any Semi/Big Rig washers would do RV"s also ?
