Hey everyone! My TT needs a good scrubbing and none of the campgrounds I stay in allow me to wash her down. At WDW I've seen services come to wash them there....does anyone know who I can call and make an appointment with for my trip down there? When it was last serviced they really did a number on it and I want it clean...!! Seems unfair I'm not allowed to wash it!!! Anyway if any of you have numbers in the WDW area please let me know so I can schedule it in advance...bet January won't be too hard to find...they can't be toooooo busy then huh???

I hope you don't mind my saying so, but I think you're gonna find that there are some campers that would prefer that you didn't spend a whole lot of time cleaning your trailer, while they are trying to enjoy their camp site. I'm just saying that these companies that come to your site, they will start early in the morning..sometimes disrupting those who are camping, enjoying their morning coffee. There are those here who have experienced the sounds of the power washers at all times of the day, while they're trying to enjoy a camping experiece. I think that you should be able to wash your rig..especially after coming a long distance. I can understand that it might be dirty and dead bugs might not be a pretty site either. Only I personally feel that you should give it a quick rinse, and leave it at that. Perhaps having it cleaned in the parking area..that would be different, as you aren't disturbing people who came to camp. Just my opinion..and we all know what that's worth!

I usually do a quick wash before we set all the stuff out. In the summer the trailer is covered in bugs and in the winter its covered with salt.

There are some travel/truck stops that wash RV's. We took it to one and it cost about $50 and took about 30 minutes or so. We pulled inside one of the truck bays and they washed it down with sprayers and brushes and gave it a good rinse/wax spray. It wasn't quite as good as the place here at home that hand washes it for us (they even wash the awning)....but then again that costs twice as much !!

There are a couple of different truck wash companies out there...this is the one we used....

thanks for the info...there is actually a truck stop in my home town on that list...maybe I'll go by there on my way out...the stuff they put on the top to clean it ofr inspection really does a number on the exterior and I will be driving 6 hours after work the night before we leave just to make it to my house and it would take me a lot longer than 30 min. to clean it.Thanks Shannone1!!!

And I am one of those unhappy campers who have experienced the not so pleasant sounds of a constant power washers ALL DAY LONG while on our well spent $$$ vacation at the FORT !
I am here to tell you that not everyone at the Fort does the parks while they camp, so are at their sites a lot. Most of the time we just come to camp and enjoy the Fort. Constant loud power washers and power equip. get old real fast....okay, I'm gonna shut up now.

believe me I have much more than washing in mind but have to use all my time off the best I can...I seldom get home with my TT to wash it, the campgrounds forbid it...what else is a girl to do but get is done there??? I'm going to try and be nice and get it done on my way....but if all else fails...I WILL have it done there...sorry to those who don't like it in advance...!!!!!

I seem to remember hearing about that! ;) Glad to have you back...hope you enjoyed your trip.

I have been thinking about getting it done there too. We don't have such services around here so it is up to us to get it done and it would be nice to have someone else give it a good wash and wax. We also don't have the time to stop on the way down and have someone do it.

I know the campground that we've been seasonal in, doesn't allow for nightly campers to wash their RV's either. Kind of ruins the camping experience. If I wanted to hear power washers, I could stay home and listen to the landscapers blowing leaves or my neighbor (Bob the builder) using power tools on his latest and greatest creation. Camping shouldn't include those types of noises. I think Disney should designate particular days that washing your rig..or having a company wash your rig is permissable. Would alleviate having to hear that type of thing every day of your vacation..and still allow those that need to get the rig cleaned after a long trip, the opportunity to do so.

I'm just sayin'.....

Ya NEVER hear pressure washers in the 2000 loop!!!

I think that would be a lovely idea for Disney to do it only on certain days. We have never been bothered by it in the 1400 loop but we have gone looping and seen them working on other units.
I just think it would be nice to have the professionals clean our rig for once instead of us. Which by the way we do at home not at other campgrounds. We just thought about it because we have seen them doing it on past trips and thought it would be nice.

I just use the hose and a brush that I bring, hardly makes any noise at all (except for me tossing empty beer cans into the bucket)
I wouldnt use a power washer on mine, I would be afraid of water getting blown in where it doesnt need to be.

Glad I could help. :thumbsup2

It wouldn't bother me if someone next to me was having their RV power washed. I'd probably see if they could do mine too ;) . It takes a LOT to bother me while I am camping.....I try not to sweat the small stuff.

Plus the power washer tends to play havoc on the decals. Of course it depends on the amount of pressure used but our camper didn't fair too well with the pressure washer technique.

I guess it depends on your perspective. If you wait all year to take your only camping vacation to FW..and find yourself in a loop with HUGE RV's who are being power washed on a daily basis...it might not be "small stuff". Kind of ruins your camping experience.
I think Frank and Denise were referring to being in a loop...with very large rigs, that were ALL being power washed. EVERY DAY. Seems that one would have it done, and then another. While I don't think I'd be bothered by ONE RV being power washed..that wasn't their experience.

That's why I would suggest that when someone has this service performed they take into consideration that some people aren't always at the parks. They are there to enjoy a camping experience in FW. While a brief power wash, isn't going to bother anyone..it's when it goes on continuously that certainly can be irritating . That is why so many camping resorts and campgrounds don't permit it. Obviously Disney does. That's why I would suggest that those that schedule it, be considerate of their fellow campers.

I think that Disney would be doing those who don't like it..and those that need it, a favor by having some sort of policy to regulate it. Avoiding any possible nasty confrontations, and meeting the needs of ALL their guests.
How about a loop for Power Washers?...:confused3 Or at least designated days and times to power wash. Something to that effect.

Just a thought here....would you have time, and would your weather allow you to rent a pressure washer and do it yourself after you get home? Or...do you have companies at home that do pressure washing? We have a ton of them here in Fla because houses with vinyl siding tend to get moldy, as does soffit and facia (sp).

You might want to wait til after your trip to clean all the yuk off after driving to the Fort & then back home. Then you can store it all nice & clean!

I'm not nuts about hearing pressure washers at FtW, either, but I tolerate it because I understand about wanting to maintain that rig you spent big $$$'s on.

As I told you in a PM & Scott reconfirmed, I don't like the idea of pressure washing a TT or RV because water can be forced into places it shouldn't be.

Now...I've seen a few kids & adults I'd like to take a pressure washer to!
