Does anyone know if they will let my daughter ride sitting on my lap? She's too little to sit on her own and would probably enjoy being able to sit on my rather than between my wife and Me.
yes they should. I'm pretty sure my family of 4 all rode together once while I held our baby and my husband held our 3 yr old. They just warned us that there were only 2 "guns", so only 2 of us could play. I hope I'm remembering right, if I'm not I'm sure someone will come correct me soon!

We rode with our 2 year old last summer. DS and DW in one car, me and DD2 in another. She sat on her own but I did "hold onto her" as those things whip around pretty good in between segments.
Only real issue was the glasses - she didn't want to keep them on.
Other than that, she enjoyed it and laughed/smiled the whole time, to the extent a 2 year old can enjoy that kind of ride. Obviously a lot of it is over their head, but fun nonetheless!
Thanks everyone! We are going in late September and it was the only tier 1 FP that she could really do so I thought I'd grab it and see what she thought. We just watch Toy Story for the first time and she thought it was fun.
When my daughter was 2 we just kinda sandwiched her in between us and it worked just fine. It was hard to keep the glasses on her little head but she didn't seem to mind!
When me and my hubby went with my daughter when she was 2 all I remember was that she sat in between us and at 1 point she stood up and put her hands in the air as we were spinning to the next segment and her yelling wee. So I had to stop playing and I had to make sure she sat the whole time
This thread has been illuminating. It's been a few years since I've ridden TSMM and I had completely forgotten about the spinning and how a toddler would fare on the ride. Really the only way that will work with our party makeup is to have my toddler with just me so I will definitely remember to hold on to him.
In February we loaded across from a couple and the woman was holding an infant. Definitely under 1 year old. She tried the gun once but she couldn't do it one handed. Not sure if they figured out a way for her to play or if she just went along for the ride.
When my son was 1, I had him in a front facing carrier. So basically he was sitting secure on my lap, and I had two hands free to play.
I think I found the front facing carrier at TJ Maxx or Marshall's, and it wasn't expensive. I didn't use it to carry him around all day, as the back support wasn't awesome, but it worked well for lines and getting on and off rides.
My daughter has sat on her own and played since she was 2 (now 3). I do hold onto her some between screens, but she loves actually playing the games. The lap bar can go pretty far down on their laps and that is what the gun is attached to. I just tip the gun down a the start of each segment and she does pretty well on her own
When ours were under 1 they were in the front pack and I held onto them. 1 was on our laps. 2+ they usually sat in the middle seat with an arm around them.
Your 2 year old will likely have to sit on her own, but you can "hold" her while sitting next to her.
When our DS was 3 months old, I was able to hold him on it, but when he was 15 months old he had to sit on the seat himself.
